Trailer For Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows

Loved the first one, but I'm a bit iffy on the sequel. It looks like they're pushing the Steampunk and explosions a bit far.

Goodbye, I guess.

That's nothing compared to what the new Three Musketeers looks like if the trailers are remotely accurate. All it's missing is a bullet time sequence.

I know, which makes it a pass for me. I'll wait until it's on Netflix.

I'm not sure about this...

I generally like Holmes and I love RDJ... but I was fading in and out of consciousness during the first one. It bored me to tears. I might still see this, but I'll probably do like Lord_Nightblade and wait for Netflix or something.

Darn, I wished they showed a scene with Stephen Fry as Mycroft Holmes. I am going to see this film. I loved the first one. Having Mr. Fry in the second is only an extra bonus.

It does seem to be more action oriented then the first though...not sure if a Sherlock Holmes film really needs that.

I was generally the same about the first film. Some funny moments, but otherwise I paid it little attention. The sequel can wait for Netflix streaming.

Oh hey, it's Noomi Rapace. I look forward to seeing how she does portraying a character who is not batcrap out of her mind.

No love for Jude Law?

'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.

No love for Lisbeth Salander? Never considered her out of her mind.

Considering her batcrap doesn't necessarily mean no love. See also: Deadpool. (Not in that way.)

it looks interesting enough....the thing I always find funny is that folks are willing to judge and dismiss a movie after seeing what 2-3 minutes of at least a 90 minutes??? Like my father once told me...watch it first and then decide for yourself whether you like it or not.

I'd be willing to do that except that ticket prices, even for matinees, have reached the point where I want to be damn sure that I'll get my money's worth out of the movie before handing it over to the theater. So if the trailer makes the movie look bad or just mediocre, then I'm inclined to skip it until it's on DVD/Netflix/whatever.

Work part time for a theater.

Its easy hours, most places will work with your schedule (say, a second job, or family time) and you get free movies.

Thats what i do. Granted, i work full time, but even the kids with only 2 shifts a week still get their free movies.

2 tickets - $22.50 at the cheaper of the big theatres, which also tends to play the more artsy/crappy movies.

Add on drinks and whatever else and you're likely hitting $40 to see a movie once.

BluRay - $20-30 to buy or $5 to rent.

I can watch movies again and again, so it's not really a hard choice, and yet I do like to go to the theatre once in awhile. Just wish they'd give us some incentive to do so.

They ALL float down here. When you're down here with us, you'll float too!

That is surely what trailers are for.

Saturday or Sunday mornings first showing are usually dead and the prices are much lower...skip the over priced drink/food and its a win!

As for the film I skipped the trailer but will be there to see it on a Sat/Sun morning

I'll see it at the theaters. I liked the first movie, and I typically go to the theaters every weekend when there is not an event or party to attend anyway. Its a typical weekend with the guys. If I like the movie, then I'll get the Blu-ray also when it comes out. Helps I guess that I'm single and have no kids.
