There used to be the 30 day license for the MA in beta (I think) but it was ultimately decided to remove it.
Currently you need to have Tier 4 of the Paragon Rewards program in order to earn rewards from the MA.

i think tier 2 can run AE mishs but with no rewards whatsoever and they cannot create mishs

Look, I got into the game because it's cool. But all those endless zones, the details of all the neighborhoods, cities, etc. it's too much. I hate having to walk from the 1st level spawn point to the AE bldg. Why cant they just give you the option to have a new character spawn in the AE bldg? And why is there no trainer in the AE bldg? More walking!

of course buying a copy of something like GR will also get you the bonuses such as alignment system and praetorians as well as the 1 month free

You know what else is annoying.. having to leave to buy stuff. Why isnt there a WentWorths, a 1-50 level enhancement store, a tailor a vault and a few crafting tables in there.. After I hit 50 in 1.2 hours how come they can't run incarnate trials through the ae portal .. hey for that matter why don't they just give me a choice of tier 4 powers as soon as I hit 50 instead of all that dreadful running trials to EARN stuff.
okay enough sarcasm for one day .. off to other things .. like playing the game!

The reason given (and it was not the only reason, just the one given explicitly) that they removed the AE license from the market *for now* was that Mission Architect takes up a ridiculous amount of resources. So, they could either make it available to everyone to the detriment of the rest of the game's performance (crashes, lag, disconnects) or wait until they get a good view of what the servers are doing with the increased load of free players, make adjustments, and then maybe bring it back.

So I finally got a friend of mine to check out CoH. The fact that it's free now doesn't hurt
but when I showed him ae and we went through a mish he wasn't getting xp... at all. Someone in help chat said you can buy a 30 day pass. So I tried to walk him through the store but the only thing that came up to buy were mish slots. What am I missing?
