Rulu-Shin Costumes

If you have done the newest Signature Story Arc: Who Will Die (Part 2 of 7)? then you have seen the Rulu-Shin. And, as long as you are not insane, you thought they looked nifty. I make a simple suggestion: Give those new pieces (especially the chest and glove eye-ball ones) to the players for use on their characters.

That is all!

(Well, almost... for those who pay too much attention to things I have said elsewhere, this will mark a departure from past comments about uniqueness of NPC costume bits... I have changed my mind. Simple as that. )

Nice.

On an unrelated note... who thinks it is likely that some of the other Aspects of Rularuu will make an appearance in the nearish future? Uuralur?

Also: Please do not change all these NPCs to use new, rather generic costume parts first, then offer those on the market and say, "By popular demand!" That would be a) cheap and b) lame. I mean, just imagine.

I see where you are coming from... but I have to say I do like the new CoT a lot more than the old. It just took me a while to come to that conclusion.

I am quite fond of the Rulu-Shin, and I'd love to see the eyeball costume pieces made available to players, perhaps add them to the unlockable details that come with defeating 100 Overseers, or other such tasks.

No, I'm not just saying that because my main toons have already recieved that badge... probably.

I'll sign on for this. It would give me a reason to actually bother with the badge on my non-weapon-users. Well, some of them.

We have a real lack of feathery-looking bits in this game... and more creepy eyeballs is ALWAYS a Good Thing... so +1 on this. I'd love to have the Rulu-Shin costume parts.

@Brightfires - @Talisander
That chick what plays the bird-things...

Adding my voice to the "most have". When i saw it on a "KO'd" foe i see the chest eye look at me before it fades away! I have a toon that would LOVE to have those parts!

I am not sure how that would really be a problem, per se...

The chest detail, back detail, and I believe shoulder details? Totally originally and totally want.
There are also new head/face details.

I gotta disagree with this. Either it is a game activity that unlocks something (in this case a badge for costume bits) OR it is a purchase that unlocks something. I am very much opposed to money being used to circumvent game activities.

Does anyone have any screen shots?

I agree. I was somewhat bothered that the Vanguard Pack is available through the Market, since those items (outside of the MVAS) can be acquired in-game via Vanguard Merits.

On the other hand, it's nice to be able to make starting characters with those pieces. I've always been kind of irked about purely-vanity-serving items being locked behind in-game activity, particularly level-dependent in-game activity.

I see it the other way. It's not a monetary way to get around gameplay. It's a Gameplay option to attain something that you would otherwise have to pay for.

"Tastes great!"

"Less filling!"

I've not done the new arc yet, but I'm all for new costume pieces in general. I prefer purchases to individual character unlocks, but I would accept account-wide unlocks via one character's in-game activities as a happy medium.

I've also been asking for spines/spikes as a back detail for a long, long time... like the EB in the redside (at least) story has.

Where to find me after the end:
The Secret World - Arcadia - Shinzo
Rift - Faeblight - Bloodspeaker
LotRO - Gladden - Aranelion
STO - Holodeck - @Captain_Thiraas

Obviously, I don't care about NCSoft's forum rules, now.

I want these. My first thought when I saw them, before deciding that I want them, was that we'll never get them because the devs don't want us to look cooler than the stuff they make.

I like the NEW new CoT better than the old. I did not like the original new CoT better than the old.

Keeping the "faceless, robed menace" appearance intact was a huge part of that.
