Your guess is as good as ours, sadly. Apparently we're not cool enough (or clipping is somehow too much for us to deal with) to have cool parts like that...

As of now, no. Not only do we have a revamp that many players objected to, but also many of the costume parts that players expressed an interest in getting are unavailable. Since one point of revamping old NPCs was to allow players access to them, this is a bitter pill to swallow.
Here's hoping that the next villain group design revamp will not restrict the best pieces to the NPCs.

i can handle some minor clipping issues. i dont mind paying for those pieces at all. hopefully we'll get some form of those shoulders in the near future...

Yes, that's right, Marketing. The difference between me spending $5 to get the points to buy the pack and me not spending $5 to get the points was one costume piece.
And nope - not upset about it. Just another consumer, voting with his wallet.
Edited to add: No. I would not spend $5 for that piece. But I'd have bought the set if all the "cool bits" were included.

Just give us the costume pieces. Yeah, they might cause clipping, but we have an entire costume editor, if something clips we can change it.
I never bought the "causes clipping" excuse for not giving us the belt or the big gloves.
If you look closely at both parts on an NPC, you'll realize that both items need more than the two colors PCs can have per part. THAT rules them out for PC parts, not clipping.
I'm not sure about the shoulder parts you mentioned, I've not taken a close look at them. But if they require more than 2 colors, don't expect to ever have them.

Whilst that may be true for the belt (though isn't the gem always purple in all the CoT that wear it?), the big gloves are actually partly a chest detail. You can see this if you go into AE and edit one of them.
Does anyone know if the shoulder spikey-looking things that the new CoT death mages have will be available as a costume piece? I bought the CoT pack but, of course, that item is not available...
