Unable to edit ANY costume on one of my characters since last patch... what ?

Mmmh so today i had the bad luck to find one of my characters was completely bugged on the tailor, apparently. All works fine for the other ones but, my poor corruptor seems totally unable to edit any costume. None of them has invalid parts, i'm not in SG mode (even tried leaving the SG) or anything else, tried several tailors/locations, pretty much anything i could think about.

Basically i can click "next", move to power customization, "next", then i go back to my character as usual only to notice i lost no Inf and nothing changed.

-i tried changing a single aura, a color, or selecting "random" or one of the default costumes, resetting all my power colors to "original" including incarnates, no way
-hell i even tried to change the gender of my character and turn a costume slot into a bald half naked average Joe with nothing at all, but it doesn't work either
-i tried removing all my incarnate slots, leaving SG, turning off any power, disconnecting several times, whatever, nothing helps
-none of my 5 slots work
-tried using some free tailor sessions in case it's related to Inf (i have 300M on that character, should be enough...), no way
-it works well on my other characters as usual

So while waiting for a GM answer, am i the only one with such a bug ? I never got that before, and it might be linked to the last patch, however i'm completely stuck now for that character and can't change any costume at all until something happens.

If anyone has some idea, thanks in advance ^^

I just found myself with the same issue. Do we have any word yet on how to get around it?

I have exactly the same problem on several of my toons on one toon 3 out of 4 of my costume slots have a lock symbol on them and despite trying everything i cant make any changes to ANY costume on any slot on that character

most of my other characters also have locked slots ive reported it and im waiting for a reply/fix

When in the costume selection screen walk through each selection to see if they have a lock next to the selection. What could be happening is that your character has a costume part that must be bought with Paragon Points.

The other problem could be that they rearranged the costume pieces within the selection trees and the system cannot find your old costume piece as it was moved to another list.

My two first costumes are locked, however, none of them has any locked part. And even if i change the costume to some default one with nothing at all on it, it doesn't work

I am experiencing the exact same issue. I went through the tailor in RWZ, everything appeared to be working, no errors popped up, but as soon as I saved the costume and went back to the game... nothing changed. :\

I am having the same issue on my Fort. I can't edit colors or change any costumes parts on the first 4 costume slots. But, my fifth is untouched and working properly for some odd reason.

Any workaround yet for this?

Having the same problem, not with editing a costume, but with trying to change an animation on one of my powers. The 'transaction' goes through, but no influence is actually spent (it's weird though, when I open the AH interface it shows that I've spent inf, but the Power Attribute monitor does not).

I'm having the same issue, I've been in contact with support but so far their ideas have pretty much been useless, I fear this isn't going to get resolved until the devs see it as an issue.

This happened to me on my Crab Spider. Every single slot was broken and unchangeable.

One of the slots I managed to fix by simply reverting the gun option to the standard Arachnos version, rather than Custom.

Another slot, I selected "Bare" as the costume set and completely wiped out everything.

The last one was more tricky and to be honest, I don't have a clue what exactly fixed it. =/ I tried everything from choosing "Bare" to the weapons change, to reselecting every single slot as something new and different, or just a different Costume set. No luck.

I did manage to at least narrow down some of the pieces that seemed problematic. Any customization options on the Crab Spider backpack, the Arach weapons, and the Roman costume set from the ITF run, as well as using glasses/goggles. Once I changed my custom colored crab spider backpack to the default colors, I was then able to save the changes.

I'm noticing that all my alts that have the Roman set in a slot are messed up and I have to fix them. Argh.

In i21 beta I heard people using Beam Rifle having an issue with costumes not changing if a certain model was selected or something, weapons may be a factor on live now. The lock symbol probably has to do with the purchasable costume slots, and the market system improperly flagging which you do and don't have access to, but that's just my guess.

This was the issue! The character I was editing uses the Mace Mastery PPP, and unless I changed the mace I was unable to make any costume changes. Something in the latest patch must have messed with custom weapons, so you have to select that weapon again in the costume creator. Once you do, you should be able to change the rest of your costume.

So I've been dealing with this issue since yesterday with the support staff, I let them reset my costumes to defaults, they tried giving me different tailor sessions, I even gave them access to login to my account and try to debug it, all for them to revert my character to yesterday morning destroying the incarnate work I had done in the past 2 days (unlocked judgement, interface, destiny, lore), had lore and destiny at t3, interface at t2, 2 VRs sitting around and hadn't crafted a judgement. They send me an email saying they were reverting me, I replied about the lost incarnate pieces and they haven't acknowledged it (even though I was corresponding with someone every 10-20 minutes before this). Oh well, if they're okay with deleting my work my sub is getting cancelled, almost a 7 year vet and this is the way they act.

As much as I wanted this to be true for me, it was not. I have spent around 2.5 mil just changing things to see if I could get ANY costume changes to work, and I have not had success at all. I'm Beam/Traps/Mace. I've tried changing the beam rifle, tried changing the mace, tried changing to costume set Bare, tried changing goggles. I've tried everything listed in this thread, and I still can't change any of my costumes.

Well i have the Mace PPP on my corruptor... i thought it might be the issue but even changing the mace didn't help

Gonna try switching to my other build model at lvl 1 and see if i can edit something, that's worth a shot if the patch doesn't help.

Edit: ok, nothing works after the patch, and even on build 2 i have the ***** arachnos mace customization... anyone feels like blowing 2 respecs to try removing the arachnos pool ? :s

So I finally found a workaround, or at least one that works for me. But it's NOT a good solution and this needs to be actually fixed soon.

This is what I did:

  • Go to trainer and switch to second, unused build.
  • Choose costume to edit.
  • Change something. (In my case I changed the Celestial Rifle to the "Beam Rifle" option.)
  • Accept changes.
  • Works!
When I switch back to my main build all my costumes become locked and unchangeable once more. Luckily it seems that whenever I switch to my second build still at level 1, the costumes are unlocked and available to be changed again.

So at least for me there's a way to finally change my costumes, even if I have to wait 10-15 minutes for build switching whenever I do it. At least the advantage to having to use my second build at level 1 is all the tailor costs are also cut down to level 1 values.

I'll have to try that again... However, do you have as well the Mace weapon on your 2nd build ? I'm pretty sure it didn't work for me, though i'll try changing only the rifle. Did you pick a locked costume or one with no lock symbol ?

This works for me also, but my second build is also level 1 with no powers selected. And yeah, I'm pretty sure it has to do with multiple weapons on one character. As mine is a FF/Beam/Mace defender.

It seems to be a problem centered on Beam Rifle characters. I just checked my Dual Pistols/Energy Manip blaster and my TA/A defender, both of whom have Mace Mastery, and their costumes are unlocked and work fine.

So it seems to be a Beam Rifle/Mace Mastery conflict here.

All my costumes still showed as locked after I switched builds. I had to go into each one and edit at least one part of them and accept the changes before they showed as unlocked. Now when I switch to my main build they all show as locked, and when I'm in my level 1 secondary build, they're not locked.

And I could still click over to the Arachnos Mace option under weapons when I was using my level 1 build, but adjusting it didn't seem to affect anything.

My Dual Pistols/Kinetics/Mace Corr still has uneditable costumes.

I haven't tried the second build workaround yet.

OMG! How like, totally kewl are these characters?!1

Well my corruptor is Assault Rifle/Dark/Mace, so not Beam rifle related, but weapon related. Seems like the common denominator is indeed the /mace PPP on top of a primary/secondary with a weapon (any kind of gun ?) already. I'll update there as soon as i can try that.

Thanks a lot for that idea, you're my hero !

And thanks Avatea for checking that as well. Maybe include that workaround, if confirmed by others, in the thread ? Or a link to that one.

The tailoring is going off /security/ level? That sounds like a bug.
