Quote:It depends on how the "pet" is summoned. Some pets, are summoned by the NPC itself. Illusionist's, Turrets, etc. Others are summoned by targeting specific enemies. (Thank you Scientist for catching that error on my part.)My Tar Patch dies with my character's 'defeat.'
All of an Illusionist's pets die with her, except the Phantasm.
A Malta Turret survives, but a Sky Raider's field generator doesn't.
I'm guessing this is just sloppy coding/flagging.
In the event of the first then it dies on NPC death, in the event of the second it dies on target death.
Again, I am not 100% on this and welcome anyone with more knowledge on the actual mechanics to correct me. -
Quote:I'm not certain, but I believe the reason these psuedopets do not despawn is because the NPC themselves is not actually summoning them. If I remember properly, programming an AI to use targetted AoEs like Caltrops or Earthquake or Rain of Fire is rather complicated. so as a work around the devs gave those NPCs unique versions of the powers that make the player summon the psuedopet at there location.Yes, pseudopets should die when the caster dies. It does for some, but not all. The list includes:
- Caltrops
- Earthquake
- Phantasm
- Turret
And to be fair, player powers cheat with this, too. The Necro MM's ghost survives their death, too. And that shouldn't happen.
If I'm right then the thing that needs to die to make them despawn is not the NPC, but you yourself. -
Quote:This works for me also, but my second build is also level 1 with no powers selected. And yeah, I'm pretty sure it has to do with multiple weapons on one character. As mine is a FF/Beam/Mace defender. So I finally found a workaround, or at least one that works for me. But it's NOT a good solution and this needs to be actually fixed soon.
This is what I did:
- Go to trainer and switch to second, unused build.
- Choose costume to edit.
- Change something. (In my case I changed the Celestial Rifle to the "Beam Rifle" option.)
- Accept changes.
- Works!
So at least for me there's a way to finally change my costumes, even if I have to wait 10-15 minutes for build switching whenever I do it. At least the advantage to having to use my second build at level 1 is all the tailor costs are also cut down to level 1 values. -
I just found myself with the same issue. Do we have any word yet on how to get around it?
-
So, I've been working on a build for my newest project most of the day. But I have little experience with scrappers. So I thought I would check here for opinions. This is what I am looking at using now, its softcapped to all types except Psy and runs at 52.5% global recharge.
I left hasten out intentionally. Money is for the most part no object for this build. (I already have the Glad Armor Unique and Hecatomb set as well as a small collection of other purple sets not 100% what ones at the moment. But I'm not currently able to afford any I don't already have.)

Quote:This one is easy. As was previously stated make sure you take the Stone Mastery epic pool, then take weave and Combat Jumping. From there you should be able to soft cap yourself to S/L defense with the enfeebled operation (I think might not be right) set 6 slotted into fire cages, the Steadfast protection 3% defense IO, and two sets of Kinetic Combat. You can run another set of Enfeebled Operation instead of one kinetic combat set.I don't suppose there is a guide with a build I could use? I am new to all the set bonuses and really do not know what the 'good' sets are. I'm usually pretty good at figuring these things out myself but with the bonuses spread all over the sets I have no clue how to combine them and make sure I have enough of the right defenses, etc to keep from gimping my favorite character.
I do have a build I can post if you want it, but its a very expensive one so I can't say how helpful it will be to you in the short term. -
Title says it all, I'm willing to pay up to 2.5 bill for it. I prefer delivery in person if possible.
Either a post here or in game will work. My global is @Doctor Tornelco and I play exclusively on the virtue server.
To those that would say just post a bid on the market and wait, I am doing just that. But I am willing to pay extra if it means getting it in the next day or so.
Edit- And I got it already! -
Yup, I'm back as well.
I inadvertantly dragged us both back, once again. -
Quote:Right for the most part, I stand at near max range so that my pets can melee all they want. Then all I have to do is make sure I don't lose aggro on it. The same concept works well with AVs and a patron immob, though it is much more prone to randomly failing miserably.Your pets survive because you shoot at long distance and cast the pets behind the pylon so they don't die from pylon's aoe?
Pets do add a lot of damage in long fight but I tried it with Bane and since I am all melee, my pets still die from aoe even though I cast them way behind pylon. After a while, those two spiders just want to go in and melee and die... -
I have solo'd several AVs and I can regularly do a Pylon with my Crab spider. Though this is with perma-pets to deal damage. So I am not sure this is something you would be interested in.
For those wanting proof, I just recently came back from a several month long hiatus and am lacking any. Though I do intend to pull out fraps and record it eventually. -
Thread title basically says it all, I would want it delivered to the virtue server. But am willing to email the inf where ever necessary.
Send me an email or tell in game with a price and we can take it from there, my global name is @Kennen.
Edit- Well, that was easy. Thank you mysterious stranger. -
So, I'm working on a KM/Invuln scrapper. While working in mids I seem to be coming up shy on energy/Neg defense. My goal is roughly 40% to all types while one enemy is in range of Invinc.
While doing this I'm also trying to get some meaningful levels of regen and recharge without killing my endurance. Ideally speaking, I would like to get it to where its a perfectly sustainable build.

This is what I am currently working with, and I'm about to scrap it and start over from scratch becuase I don't feel like it would be able to maintain itself properly over the course of a long fight. Any advice or insight into something I am missing would be much appreciated, as this is my first time looking at invuln in any serious manner. -
Quote:Yeah, I know what you mean. As one of the two current mods of Virtue LFG Alpha, I can't say I was very pleased when I found out about the formation of yet another channel with an identical purpose.Gee I can't wait till that switches again. What next? Virute: This is really the LFT channel you are looking for?
Especially since there was no real reason for it other then OCD issues with a name having an extra word, oh and it splits up the people that would make use of them very nicely as well. -
Well, you are correct on the Stone Mastery bit. The armor and Earth's Embrace help with survival a ton, add to that that fissure is argueably the best AoE in the controller APPs and that Seismic Smash makes farming with bosses turned on very viable and its hands down the best.
As for a build, I recomend grabbing weave as you planned, along with stone armor and Combat Jumping. Slot the 3% defense Steadfast Protection IO in toughs default slot, then just build for Smashing and Lethal defense. That should take care of your survival, at least to where you wont need Flashfires/Cinders for every spawn.
As for a farm map, you dont want freaks. They both deal energy damage and only drop tech salvage (To my knowledge). I would recomend either Unai Kemens, Axis Amerika map. Though Maria Jenkins has a good one that also works, with Battle Maiden Warriors.
I think that covers most of your questions, if I missed something just say so. -
*shrug* Might as well start now, since chances are you'll be working on that build for quite a while. Its a little on the pricey side as far as these things go.
-
This is the build im currently running, its not a farm build though it certainly can farm with the best of them.
I don't like speed boost so thats not in there. Though you could easily swap out Earth's Embrace or Inertial Reduction for it if your more patient then I.

Maybe its just me, and while I noticed an obvious change in the font size. I actually prefer it the way it is now. Maybe its just me, but I think the small size makes it look a bit less cluttered or something, who knows. But, I definitely don't have problems reading it.
And I broke my glasses a few months back and have been half blind since. -
Hmm, didnt realize Sup Invis supressed as Ive never played Illusion. I figured it was like Energy Cloak and didnt supress at all. I'll have to give this another go over then and see what I can come up with.
-
Thanks for taking a look at it. I needed a nap, but when I woke up I took a bit more of a serious look at it. Refined a few things and swapped some slots around. I hadn't thought of the end issues honestly so, good catch. In the end I came up with something like this.

Squeezed in some extra End Reduction where it matters, stuck an end mod into AM, and grabbed the miracle proc. Also, yeah in this build Tough is totally there as an IO mule. I honestly doubt a build with perma PA and that kind of defense will be helped much by a bit of resistance. -
So, a friend of mine recently got her Ill/Rad troller to 50 and wanted both a cheap build, and an expensive build. One to make and one to work towards. Anyways, after helping her a bit, I suggested she make her own build and post it on the forums to get other peoples opinions.
Long story short, she posted in the wrong section and in the wrong format.
Anyways, in that same thread it was mentioned that Perma-PA and softcapped defense was impossible. So, I made that my goal.
Anyways, alot of minor things havent been touched from what she gave me. Such as the generic IOs in a few spots. But, I figure its still a nice little build. (Also, this gives her a properthread to use in discussing it >>.>)

That is a very interesting build, when I have a chance to sleep I will take a serious look at it.

So, I've been playing my Spines/Elec/Blaze for a good while now. I really enjoy all three sets, but im finding (I also totally expected this) that I die alot. Now, Im not to concerned about this as I like the charecter anyways. I was just wondering if anyone else had any ideas on slotting, possibly for some defense. As you can see in the following build I essentially went for pure recharge.

Quote:A bit of functionality would be nice, crafting table maybe storage. Beyond that, I just sort of want a foundation for the later rooms I might eventually get up the patience to do myself. Something that will work for hanging out/RPing while also providing me with ideas and a look to work towards with future rooms. My question would be to this is what do you want out of the base? Do you want funcuality with workshops, TP rooms and med bays? Do you want style, a place where your guys can just hang out and chill for meetings and RP flavoring?
The first can be done quite easily with the prestige available, the other may take a bit longer and would need more prestige to make it shine.
So, I guess I'm more interested in the second. As for time, Im in no huge hurry or anything so I figured theres bound to be someone out there that enjoys base designing and wouldnt mind making some inf for doing what they like. -
Hey everyone, so I was attempting to build a base for my small SG the other night and in spite of sitting on well over a million prestige I just cant seem to come up with anything that I like that wont take me 3 months.
See, Im lazy and don't want to end up spending a majority of my playtime developing something only 4 or 5 people will ever see.
So, in hopes of finding someone interested in designing a science/tech type SG base I thought maybe I could go ahead and offer up some money for your time or something. As I was saying its got just over a million prestige and the only rules on what you could design would be to keep it modern tech like.
If your still interested shoot me a tell in game, im at @Maximal and spend 90% of my playtime on my scrapper Ornament (Virtue server).
Most of my resources are hero side on the virtue server, but if you prefer your villains I can probably come up with a little something over there for you. -
