Discussion: Return to the skies...City of Heroes Freedom Free Forever!
This may be a dumb question but here goes anyway........Is there a reason why premium accounts don't get access to there set bonuses? I logged in my alt account that was reactivated to a premium account, hopped on a toon only to find I had all my sets in tact just no bonuses showed up and they did not effect my powers!! So is this how it's supposed to work or is this a bug??? Anyone???
I actually have a problem with this. Admitted, it's a personal one, but still a problem. Several years ago, my brother died. He was an avid CoH player. I'm not sure I'm comfortable with you guys reactivating his account forever. I was OK with reactivation for a short time, but forever? What if somebody hacks in and finds his account and it's information? Am I likely to see his characters running around? What guarantees can you make that nothing so annoying will happen?
Admitted, this is a very rare (at least, I hope it is) concern, but it's one that I have in the back of my mind and I'm just not sure I like having it. I'm most likely just being paranoid, but I feel this way, however irrational it might be. I'd like all the ghosts of the past to stay at rest. |

Oh what about the premium accounts who bought the going rogue expansion shouldn't they have access to sets as well as incarnates cause I have neither
There are only three alternatives. It thinks were either a threat, food, or a mate. Its gonna either kill us, eat us, or hump us.

As a Premium player, if you do not have access to the Invention system IO bonuses will not apply. The Invention system is a Tier 7 bonus on the Paragon Rewards Tree (lifetime Invention system access), or Premium players can purchase a 30-day license for the Invention system in the Paragon Market. VIP players have access to the Invention system as part of their subscription.

Thanks for the clarification although this kinda sucks but at least u can play, if you call playing with 1 arm and 1 leg playing!

SOs are still perfectly valid for play all the way up to 50.
Also, check out the list at www.Paragonwiki.com/wiki/Paragon_Reward - it will list how many tokens you need to unlock/fill T7 for the lifetime liscense, and if you check your rewards screen it will show how many tokens you have total.

Grrrr still can't log in my second account. I hope I can log onto it soon, it would suck that free players get to play before my second premium account can log on.
Cancel the kitchen scraps for widows and lepers, no more merciful beheadings and call off christmas!
Your playing with all limbs whole and hale. Just don't have your fancy orthopedic shoes and super comfy tendonitis gloves right now.

I think it bears repeating that the level 50 game itself is still balanced around SO's. Along with inherit fitness, the challenges in the game should be even more accessible (as in do-able) than it was in pre IO days, right?
Still hate the visit Winscott mission- make it dropable, have it give actual exp or remove it altogether. PS- Down knows who you are.

The alignment/sideswitching system
The six basic Praetorian zones (Nova, Imperial, Nuetropolis, and their corresponding undergrounds)
The four powersets unlocked. Note, this does not unlock the mastermind or controller archetypes for free to play, but you would have these power sets when you unlock them (Paragon Rewards t5 or inshore onetime unlock purchase)
The two bonus slots if applied prior to freedom
GR, while required to access incarnates prior to freedom, did not include the incarnate system.

My arcs are constantly shifting, just search for GadgetDon for the latest.
The world beware! I've started a blog
GadgetMania Under Attack: The Digg Lockout
I created a character on a trial account that has just been reactivated (the first level of the reward tree filled in), and ran into a serious problem.
I had just finished a mission and I was about to log out when someone sent me a tell asking if I was interested in doing a TF. I tried to respond with a polite tell saying I was logging, instead of just blowing them off.
But I couldn't respond, and instead I got a message telling me that I had to unlock reward level 2.
I logged on with my VIP account in a second instance of the client to test how the interaction appears to the VIP, and there was no indication that the F2P is incapable of responding.
I agree that we don't want F2P players to be able to badger random people with tells. But if a VIP initiates a tell to an F2P player, the F2P player should be able to respond.
The inability to respond to tells will put F2P players at a huge disadvantage. Following the rules of common courtesy in the game, I never send blind invites, and always send a tell first before inviting. If someone doesn't respond to me I assume they're AFK or not interested and will therefore not invite them.
But the inability to respond to polite tells will mean F2P players will never get invited to a team that knows what it's doing. That means they'll probably never get any kind of sense of community, and they'll be very unlikely to actually want to pay for a game that apparently has a major design flaw. It's also very inconvenient for VIP players who want to make a team: they can't easily tell why the person isn't responding.
I hope that a fix is in the works for this: F2P players should be able to respond to tells initiated by VIP players. Otherwise I and thousands of other VIPs will never invite them. That will make CoH seem like a very unfriendly place.

I tried giving a little inf to a friend trying the game out yesterday. Trade failed. no explanation. Free accounts appear to be trial accounts that dont expire. not gonna get many new accounts that way.You cant even give them a wakie if they die. whats next? making them not teleportable?
Lots of 50's yada yada. still finding fun things to do.
Cthulhu loves you, better start running
I! I! Gggorschabha egurtsaarug d Dalhor! Cthluhu fthagn! Cthluhu fthagn!
You are in a maze of twisty little passages
It quickly bacame obvious once Freedom was live that the free tier was nothing more than a 'Demo'. Restrictions are one thing but this is overboard. Not being able to give an awaken to a fallen comrade isn't an enticement to buy points, its an unneeded annoyance.
More than likely, it's not something they can easily adjust though. As I'd expect it's an all or nothing deal when it comes to trading. Giving free players the ability to drag and drop inspirations might only be possible by giving them ability to trade as well...
Still, it really makes selling friends on the game a chore.
That said, the Premium and ViP tier is rocking!! I've seen so many returnees saying how much the game has changed and after a few hours back they just went ahead and resubbed!
Mission accomplished there. Now to ensure we dial in the best level of restrictions on free players to get them feeling the same.
Maestro Mavius - Infinity
Capt. Biohazrd - PCSAR
Talsor Tech - Talsorian Guard
Keep Calm & Chive On!
Try 2 of the toons on it .. go for a 3rd it would not let me have it because the toon was a controller, but still used up one of my slots.
Guess now i just report it. just a warning controllers are not Free
I would definitely /bug and /petition it.
