Color Customization - Epic & Ancillary Power Pools

This could be an easy moneymaker for the devs. Call it Power Customization 2.0, it unlocks Epic and Power Pool customization and costs 800-1200 points. People would crash the store trying to buy it so fast.

But I think if such an option was EXCLUSIVELY given to PPs and nothing else...the impact on PVP would be minimal at best.
They already have tech to exclude power customization effects from PvP. They're live and in use today. They shouldn't need to have any impact the devs don't want to have.

Heh, are you serious? That's like pointing out that someone else's girlfriend is prettier specifically because she doesn't have a freckle on her shoulder. Maybe it's a big deal to you, but I seriously doubt that's on many people's list of hot reasons to play some other game.

I really hope that's true. I assume the statement was taken out of context or supposed to be a joke.

I would love APP power customization. But if nothing else just getting rid of Hasten's costume ruining graphics.

Like I noted in the other thread, if someone is actually serious about needing to know when another player fires Hasten, they will be disappointed to learn you can occlude Hasten's graphics entirely with hand auras, and even fake it exactly using the Fire aura colored orange on the hands so that no one ever knows if you have it active. Are there a whole lot of PVPers doing this for the visual advantage? I seriously doubt it.

PS I wouldn't lose any sleep over the death of that screeeeeee sound effect either. I think its the sound effect that I hear repeated more than any other in the game when there is a crowd around, and its like nails on a chalkboard.

Oh yeah another way to monetize APPs, if not necessarily color customization, is to have versions of them for some of the new sets.

E.g. The Time Manipulation power set also unlocks a Time APP for Dominators and Blasters, and so on.

No, you are wrong. The "pink scribbles" in the Mental APP armor is ATROCIOUS and much more bothersome than Hasten. If they take care of Hasten I will be thrilled, but not if I still have to put up with those stupid scribbles.

6 Issues later I think is time we get Power customization 2.0, for HEATs, VEATs, APP, PPP and Power pools.

This.

I know I wold pay for the option. And lets be honest, if this does ever come now that the game is all about micro transactions you can pretty safely assume this will be a "pay for" item. The people that think it will be free are delusional.

I'd pay to be able to turn off the travel power graphics as well. Hasten is straight up ugly and even those air poofs you get from flight and super jump are annoying to me.

I know I would pay for a way to get rid of the glow on hasten, or different FX for it.

How many people have Hasten (and would like to colour/suppress it) compared to the Mental armour though? Hell, how many characters never even get as far as APPs? If they have limited resources to assign to this and you're looking at it from a "bang for the buck" perspective, I imagine just giving us a "No FX" option for the most serious offenders would yield the best result.

Of course I'd love to see all powers and pools fully customisable, but if it's not possible just now I could live with the above as a stop-gap measure.

(And out of curiosity, is Mind Over Body really that bad? I haven't played a character with it in about 5 years and my google-fu apparently sucks since I can't find a pic of it.)

As a regular pvper I have never seen anyone try to cover up hasten. And they already have a solution for pvp since some sets like will power have auras that can be removed altogether but show any time you enter a pvp zone or arena. I'm sure the same would be done for hasten if they ever gave us the option to remove the ugly graphics. It wont show in pve but will in pvp areas.

I've honestly never understood the theory that people would be able to "hide" the fact that they're using something like Hasten in PvP with customization. That just seems like a "smoke-n-mirrors" Dev excuse with no basis in reality. Wouldn't it be smart from a PVP strategy point of view to ALWAYS assume your opponents are using Hasten whether you can see them using it or not? If for some reason they aren't using it that's their problem, not yours.

First of all, BAD NECRO-POSTING! BAD! *thwacks spazmeer with a newspaper*

That said: power pool, ancillary pool, and patron pool customization have been confirmed for the next major update, Issue 24.

Oh man, you need another whack

Those sets aren't suppose to be mentioned....until they are formally mentioned (possibly) during the next chat.

Though, now I see a few that I didn't know were coming (as I missed most of them before all the dev retacting )

Level 53: Arrows/Devices/Munitions Blaster

....and hopeless Science-Natzi.

For now, I don't think there was an official thread announcing it, but they announced it on their live video stream on twitchtv.com on July 18th.
In case you're interested in watching any or all of that: http://www.twitch.tv/paragonstudios/b/325355186

There might be a few replies in the dev tracker to us talking and cheering about it, but nothing announced in text... but it is definitely happening!

Does it really matter? This thread is already at an end since we know that the original issue that this thread was made for is effectively resolved. This thread can die in peace, yes?
