Ashley has only been a girls name for about 50 years or so.

There are a number of traditionally male names that have become more popularly used for girls (some almost exclusively) in recent years: Addison, Ainsley, Ariel, Ashley, Blake, Courtney, Elliot, Kelly, Leighton, Leslie, Lindsay, Peyton, Rory, Ryan, Whitney.

I was referring to names cited elsewhere in the thread. Kevin I could almost see, especially if it were spelled "Kevyn" or "Kevinne". But Richard strikes me as...decidedly masculine...and if I elaborate I'm sure get hit with the "T for Teen" hammer.

I went to school with a boy named Tracy.
had an apartment I shared with a girl named Bobby.
I have a step niece named Aaron.

None of them were cross dressers at the time.

There I was between a rock and a hard place. Then I thought, "What am I doing on this side of the rock?"
