Do they ever plan to give us alternate flight poses?

I'm pretty sure you can attain that pose by doing a costume change using the salute costume change emote while hovering, however, I could be mistaken.

The reason the poses don't work with stealth and other such powers is, I'm guessing, the fact they put you into "combat" - that's the only explanation I can think of, since you are also unable to use poses right after combat (well, you can use them, but when you leave combat mode or whatever you revert to the default fly and have to use the pose again).

As I recall (and it was a while back) when flight poses were added back in I9, the devs attempted to implement a system whereby any one of the five pose animations would be randomly applied when you activated Fly. I recall this actually being live for a brief window of time.

Problem was the RPers whined about how this or that pose wasn't in character for this or that alt and how it was breaking their immersion. So the devs responded by removing automatic random poses and kludged up the current system that requires client-side macros, at which point everyone in the game (RPers included) stopped using them altogether. They are now so rarely seen that most players who subbed at I10 or later can be excused for not knowing the functionality even exists. Classic "dog in the manger" behaviour really.

I remember that a little differently. The way I remember it is that they rolled it out, everyone said "Hey, that's awesome! Can we have a way to choose the pose we want?" and then the devs said "Sure but this is the only way we can do it." Then everyone lived happily ever after, except for Gargamel because he hates everything.

Wait..what?
Heroic and Villain Stances were emotes added with GR:Complete Collection. Two versions of each. Linky.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Yes, and the post Arcanaville quoted is a day old.

Was he talking about something he saw years ago? i.e. long before the stances were added to the game. That is what i thought you meant.

I was talking about something I saw over this past weekend. And I agree with houtex, they are creepy...awesome, but creepy. Makes characters look like levitating vertical cadavers. Or imperious god-like overlords.

RPer, still using the emotes. Rushmore. uses Flypose 2, Zortel uses flypose 1, Gail's Force uses Flypose 3 and Fusebox uses Flypose 4.
