Base Bugs in I21
I've noticed that the old re-claimable base items (Comic covers, arachnos flyer etc) are now single use only... I've mentioned it in the bug section here
Not sure if this is WAI?

Both these bugs were brought up during beta, repeatedly, but are apparently low priority.
Best thing we can do is keep at it... /bug them in game (especially the logos) and in the tech/bug boards.
In the meantime, a workaround (and a terrible one, IMO) for the veteran base items is to keep a spot open for a disposable toon:
create toon,
invite to SG,
claim items,
place items in SG,
delete toon,
begin again

Got the biohazard icons myself.
All three base items can only be claimed once.
What I would like to suggest is that once you have the email (proof you have the reward itself) and claim it; that it activates the old vet claim badge which we could click multiple times. I would hope that it's still buried in there and wouldn't be too much to bring back to the front.
Only other thing which I've yet to test fully: the tech Galaxy beacon takes you to the Echo but the arcane Galaxy beacon takes you to old Galaxy.

Has anyone else noticed (redside) that the previously "damaged" Grandville and Pocket D tech tp beacons have been replaced with an unlit Pocket D logo screen?

Obviously, I don't care about NCSoft's forum rules, now.
Like the original poster, all SG symbols are biohazard. As at the time I21 was relased, all my deocmratives had been grey/gray (not veyr dark), I am left with hundreds of round light grey circles (thank god! I can live with those).
I have posted/petitioned in game, and will continue to do so; and follow up.
I am stressing I am a VIP member.
Arcane halaxy portal flashes me into Galaxy (I think!) then bounces me to Atlas.

By sheer accident found out that the Bullseye emblem still shows up like it should. Then went through and tested every single symbol, but only the Bullseye seems to have eluded this bug.
That doubles our options.
Dear Paragon,
If you're not going to FIX bases, you're not allowed to break them MORE...

Forget about it. They will NEVER fix anything with bases. I've already removed all items in The Legendary Base that use logos and will never use anything that uses them again.
If the bio-hazard logo is annoying, you'll just have to live without the glass panels, holograms, floor tiles - anything. I've already resigned myself to that.
There are no devs that work on bases. There are no devs that listen to base builders. This forum is ignored utterly by the Paragon Staff. When was the last time a Dev posted in here?
Here - I'll answer my own question: I used the Dev Tracker both collectively and for each individual Dev.
There are the most recent responses by any Dev that have been posted in the Base Construction forum:
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...7&postcount=57
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...3&postcount=19
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...85&postcount=3
The most recent post by ANY Dev in the Base Construction forum was CASTLE complimenting someone on figuring out how to build a giant robot in their base. And that was back in 2008.
That's it. Aside from a few posts from Positron that predate even the one above, that is ALL.
Do you GET IT?
Base Builders are in the basement with PVPers. We don't exist. The only way that devs will pay attention to or fix bases is if the bases become utterly broken and unusable. And probably not even then.
Here's my prediction - There will be a City of Heroes 2 before there will be any bug fixes or additions to bases.
So forget about it. Let it go. Move on. Figure out other solutions. This bug will stay unfixed until NCSoft finally at long last closes down City of Heroes for the last time and the last server goes dark.
And yet ... you completely discount multiple and repeated statements by Zwillinger and Others in the weekly UStream Chats that the Devs ARE WORKING ON BASES and they just can't talk about what they're doing yet. When was the last time they talked like this about something they've got in the works?
Issue 21
Paragon Rewards
Paragon Market
Time Manipulation
Beam Rifle
Street Justice
Titan Weapons
New Dominator Powersets (that haven't been revealed yet)
First Ward(!)
Keyes Island Trial
Underground Incarnate Trial
... and on and on and on and on ...
So cling to your Assault Rifles and Religion of DOOOOM if you must, but the rest of us are paying attention to what the Devs are saying *NOW* about Bases ... LIVE ... on Internet TV ... almost on a weekly basis, and have come to a Very Different Conclusion about the future of SG Bases than you have.
Nice try though.

I'll believe when I see it and not before (but I really want to be proved wrong this time).

Well, at least the logo issue did (finally) make it to the i21 known issues list, where they do say they will be working on fixes for those particular problems.
Now we just need to get them to look at the base item vet rewards...

In addition to the biohazard logo, I also noticed this bizarre bug:
- In storage containers (salvage racks and enhancement tables), the order in which items were listed was changed. And, the order can no longer be specified by the player.
You see, I like to organize the items in my storage containers. (In particular, I like to group IO sets.) After I21, that order was re-arranged automatically, jumbling the items in a haphazard way.
I tried to re-arrange the items and restore my preferred ordering... but, nooooooooo! The items automatically snapped back into the post-I21 order! There was nothing I could do to change the haphazard, automatic ordering!
So, not only did I21 come into my house and mess with all the logos; but it also entered all my storage containers and messed with the careful ordering I had specified for the items!
I reported the storage container bug. But, no reply and no correction--yet.

While it didn't make it into the Official Patch Notes for i21, it was mentioned in one of the Beta Patches.

As it's in Known Issues now and listed, I'd say (unless it drops off) this specific base bug (all logos/emblems are biohazard) will be fixed sooner, not later. Making that list has historically meant active dev hours are being spent on it, afaik.

Sorting storage alphabetically has been a longstanding request
|
I liked sorting storage rack salvage by thematic similarity of icons. For example, all the metals, all the gemstones, etc. Now, the icons are all mixed up, albeit in alphabetical order by name.
I preferred visual sorting by icon, not by name. But, good for you, getting things changed to the way you like.
I didn't spot an option for turning off the new, improved alphabetical sorting. So, let me request such an option. No doubt, it will become a longstanding request before it is fulfilled--if ever.
Then, I'm glad the community got their request for alphabetical sorting fulfilled.
|
It was not my personal request.
The list is a compilation of longstanding community requests since 2007.
The list wasn't even started by me, I'm just the one who has been updating it recently.
As with many changes, people will have to learn to adapt.

@Ukase
While this is the only one I've found so far I imagine others may pop up and this seems like a good time to consolidate them.
Currently in my base the SG symbol on all decorative items that use the SG symbol have changed to the biohazard symbol. No amount of changing SG symbols seems to change the items placed or in the builder. Color changes still work but changing the symbol does not.
