Wait till after the 'Okay' text is clicked.

Many times with newer missions some character wants you too talk to them. After clicking several 'okay' texts they turn on you or an ambush appears, but it doesn't happen after the end of the conversation. So if they're giving some speech about wanting to kill you, not enough time is given to read what they've said.

The suggestion is wait till after the last 'Okay' text is clicked before turning on me or sending an ambush or deciding to off yourself or deciding to off yourself and sending an ambush.

If it ain't broke set it on fire, then say it was a fault in the design.

/signed for pure mechanical common sense.

Indeed. Having the ambush start before I've read the 'twist of the knife' is kind of jarring.

Some conversations actually have a placeholder final text screen that the ambush occurs on with only a couple of words of text like "You head enemies approaching!" with the last line of dialogue happening in the text screen before it. I think this is a good solution to the problem without requiring new tech to handle this. Just pad all conversations that spawn ambushes with one final placeholder screen.

Yes it's quite frustrating when my choices are between closing the dialog without finishing reading it, or reading it while I'm faceplanted.

You do realize that you don't have to close the dialog window to fight, don't you?

You can even drag it out of the center of the screen if you are the type of person that clicks on enemies to target them instead of using the keyboard.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Yes, but meanwhile you're being pummeled by the ambush, which can be fatal for some ATs.

This workaround is viable, but profoundly inferior to the proposed change.

I don't have a problem with this. I just target pummel them all, viewing them through the text, until they're all defeated. If I have a small break, I move the window a little. After they're all done, THEN I read.

I know it's coming, though. After Praetoria and the switching, I kinda assume (if the story's vibe properly sets it up) that the assault is comin'.

But I see the point, and I'm also ok with /signed here.
