Costume Designer: Still love it after all these years
I gave up trying to be creative with names. My main? Literally just what he is and then J at the end to signify its me. I've been getting better, you should see my new character lineup.
Leetdeth, Ragedeth, Beestdeth, Spacedeth, Dethdeth...
I mean, the possibilities are endless!
Oh and did i mention they all look mostly the same?

I love the character creator in this game. I can easily spend over an hour making a costume and tweaking power colors before I even think about coming up with a name.

They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

Now a little more on topic...
No argument with the quoted above. Coming up with new costumes for some of my Characters is interesting in of it's own right. It can be down right surprising what can be done w/the CC in this game.
Thank you for the time...
The greatness of the costume creator in this game is the reason why among all the other cool changes coming with Issue 21 the one that'll allow us to unlock 5 more costume slots per character is easily one of the best ones for me. There have been so many times I've wanted to have "helmet/no helmet" versions of costumes or other variations that I couldn't quite accomplish or justify with only the original 5 slots. Getting more slots to work with is going to make things much easier.

This is the reason I play. I mean, I love the super hero genre but that's because of the costumes, the hair, the outfits, the combinations. It's my favorite thing. I've probably spent as much time in the character creator than I've spent actually playing the game.
Unlike a previous poster, I agonize over creating a good hero name and backstory. A couple of my characters are homages but the rest are mine. Instead of paying attention in school you can find me in the back of the class hair in my face, bent over my notebook coming up with backstories, fan fiction, and names for future characters. I'm going to have a whole pantheon!

Indeed, hehe... I have 2,000 saved costumes and counting...
Sometimes I feel like I subscribe to this awesome character creator program that also has a game attached to it!!
Fortunately... I really enjoy the whole game as well, haha.

"Where are you? We're by the statues."
"I'm still in the character creator."
"We're running a sewer team; you want to come?"
"I'm still in the character creator."
"Dude we're level 12 already."

Where else can you make a mad pirate cheerleader zombie robot clown ninja vampire werewolf goth punk scientist catgirl? It's awesome!!!

What's also funny is when you decide to roll up some new characters with friends, and this happens:
"Where are you? We're by the statues." "I'm still in the character creator." "We're running a sewer team; you want to come?" "I'm still in the character creator." "Dude we're level 12 already." "I'm still in the character creator." |
I either have a character already made or just don't join people on such things...
Although, what does happen often is that my wife and I both say we're going to play...
She logs in and plays, while I dabble in the costume creator for hours and never actually log in...
Might I suggest the peg leg with folded boot option?

It's amazing that some of us survived playing this game for several years before the costume save/load feature was added to the game.

I was sooo thankful for the Save/Load Costume feature!

Hmm might be a good time to actually enter those and save the files...
Oh look at the time now...
When creating a new char - i love closing my eyes, click random 10 times and just go with what it gave me *. Tweak it at lv10 if im semi-enjoying the char. Re-do at lv20 since by then ill probably keep it.
* unless the costume is pink, has ears other than human or a tail, then ill remove or adjust those elements :P
And people would still like to be able to have an offline character creator so that we don't have to log in to the game just to be able to tinker with the costumes.
Imagine all the time we'd lose if they finally made this available to us after all these years.
Well, I wouldn't lose much time, but some of you folks certainly would.
I have to wonder if Arbiter Fabulous would ever log in to the actual game again.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
I typically spend a half-hour or more on the costume, but sometimes I like to just roll the dice and see what happens. I have several heroes who had no concept at all until some random costume appeared, and after tweaking it for an hour, I had a uniform, a concept and a backstory, all pulled out of thin air, as it were.
Despite all of the weird and wrong combos that come out, there are a whole bunch of "right" or almost "right" combos that show up. I think it speaks to the strength of the art design of the game that we can have this huge variety that actually works together instead of it just being a hodge podge of clashing parts when you use them outside of their designated sets.
Mind you I've had enough armor to last another 8 years but all in all, I'm pretty happy with the amazing wardrobe that we have available.

Regardless of the details the bottomline is that the chances of us ever getting another standalone costume creator at this point is just about zero. Sad as that is it does at least save us from -wasting- that much more time with costume tinkering...

This is still the only game anywhere where a play session can go like this:

"Get rid of the tail, again... Tweak the colors a bit..."
"Hmm... Let's fix the patterns to the right ones for those pieces..."
"Well, that's not half bad."
