Storage for Sale - Who's going to buy?
I will probably spring for the enhancement slots, simply because it will make respeccing easier. I still have health and stamina (and not the inherent kind) on most of my characters because I hate respeccing just that much.
Ooh, a sarcasm detector. Oh, that's a *real* useful invention. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technolog...t-sarcasm.html
I'm not paying $40 on two rows of enhancements just because the respec system is bad.
The absolute ONLY use I would have for more Enhancement Tray storage is during respecs, and it isn't worth that much to me. I mostly ignore Enhancement drops, and delete them only when I need to make room for IOs. However I can see PvPers buying this in order to recover expensive PvP and Purple IOs from old builds.
More Recipe storage is moderately nice, but I'm rich enough to delete Common recipes whenever I need more room, and I know the IO Market well enough to delete things that won't sell. Vault storage is overpriced, it should be cheaper than personal Salvage storage. And I don't need more Salvage storage as I just delete all my Common stacks when I fill up. But between the 3 of these, I expect plenty of people will want more Recipe storage. Farmers will really like this.
The Auction House is probably the only one I'd consider, and that only with my 400 VIP points per month. I have most of my characters in personal SGs with plenty of storage for everything. That includes massive numbers of stored IOs and large amounts of mid and high level Salvage. If I'm doing lots of Marketeering, it means I have to switch characters a lot. More transaction slots means less switching, so it saves time.
But mainly I would treat the extra Market slots as extra Universal Storage, since I have /auctionhouse. Those 5 Transaction slots can store up to 50 Salvage or 50 Recipes, even if I'm in the middle of a mission. That's a LOT better than buying slots for 10 Salvage or 5 Recipes for the same price. I expect other people with /auctionhouse will feel the same.
Goodbye and thanks for all the fish.

I'll probably grab the enhancement one, because I respec/remove IOs/delete alts quite often, and I price my time more than my bucks.
For the same reason, I'll likely get the market slots at some point. More slots = less hopping from character to character when marketeering = less time spent on loading screens.
The rest is nice, but not useful enough for me to pay money for it, I think.

Enhancemnet trays: never purchased a respec in game or via store, 0 interest.
Salvage: some use, on the characters that need it I already have 80 slots so maybe 1 additional purchase, but at 10 bucks checking my self respect at the door would be a problem Vault space: Worthless Auction house: Very nice, allows me to use fewer characters to do the same amount of marketing. That said I already have a horde of dedicated marketeers and can't spend the inf I have fast enough Edit: Now extra inf storage, that would be something |

I think if they were halved it would be tempting and I would probably buy them up slowly over time. At their current pricing I will probably never touch them unless I have nothing better to spend my money on (costumes, powers, etc.).
I have already developed routines to deal with my current inventory capabilities, paying that much more to alliviate some of my vendor/ww trips just isn't worth it. Usually by the time I fill up, I need to take a break/level/visit a zone and a quick stop to the places I take care of these things isn't that big of a deal.
Really I don't get why they are taking a page from the AppStore revolution and make everything cheap enough to where you would never even think twice about spending the money on it. aka 95% of things priced less than $1 the other 5% Rarely if ever going over $5, I think if they were to do this people would buy up a lot more of the doodads in the market.
I'll be spending my VIP points on upping my storage
All except the vault, which I never use. Enhancements first, then recipes and salvage and finally AH. |
Back in i9 beta we were able to carry way more then we can now and during the whole storage-not selling stuff due to crappy drop rates, the devs decided that they would cut our personal storage in half and basically shoved the other half into these vaults forcing you to run all over hell and back to use them. The vault reason at the time was so people wouldn't delete important salvage from what I recall.
They should just do away with the useless vaults and put that storage back into inventory.

On the other hand if you sell 20% as many at 10 times the price, you're way ahead.

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
I'm sure we're going to see a reduction in price, but I am afraid it will be on the order of 10% or less, and not the 50% or so that it really should be for some items.
I agree that the enhancement trays seem overpriced. I understand the game-balance concern of easily allowing too much storage and how that can negatively effect the in-game economy. I see 800 to 1200 being more reasonable, but still expensive.
Vault storage space (currently priced at 400 for 5 slots) is actually one of the things I'm looking forward to the most. I start collecting salvage for level 50 builds once a character reaches 26. Instead of having to put some salvage in the vault, and some stacks in the AH, I can now just vault all or most of it. Paragon Reward levels and the new purchasable vault space will allow me to increase my vault space by +50 (+20 VIP/+30 purchased) for a total of 100 at level 50.

Yeah. I think I could sacrifice the dough IRL to max out my CH slots at the very least--but not with everything costing $10 a whack. That's ludicrous. I'm sure they'll have weekly rotating "sales,"

Would more storage be a slight convenience? Sure. Is it worth those prices to me? Hell no. (This from a guy with two accounts and every expansion and booster pack on both accounts.)

Enhancement tray storage: very useful to me for marketing.
Vault storage: I virtually never touch the vault.
I don't even save salvage in my base, it seems a waste of time to me. I can store 30 pieces of salvage worth thousands of influence (or a couple million in the case of rare salvage), for which I need 2-5 pieces each to craft my IO, or I can store 100 fully complete IOs worth millions each... I just don't get base salvage storage at all. When I need salvage, I buy it from the market or from AE.

If the prices become reasonable I may buy the market storage, recipe storage and maybe a tray. I don't find the tray all that useful unless I'm doing a respec to pull stuff out of a character and that's extremely rare.
As to not storing salvage. I keep racks full of common in my base and some uncommons because I dislike paying stupidly high prices for common drops. Especially when there are 1000+ available. You can't rely on tickets to get the salvage you need. I've had plenty of times where I've needed 2 alchemical silvers, rolled 30 arcane salvages and gotten everything but an alchemical silver....one of the many reasons I hate random crap.

Currently it costs $70 bucks to pull all the enhancements off of a single build ($210 bucks for all three builds), and we have players that burn thru respecs like they were meth addicts. That one time purchase of $40. for two enhancement trays forever cuts that price in half.
And if they are VIP's it won't cost them a penny to buy because they can save up and only spend the free points they get with their subscription. We'll be getting 1200-1600 points when Freedom launches, That's one tray right there.
Then don't. No one is holding a gun to your head. But there are many players who will save a lot of money by buying those two rows of enhancement slots.

Wait... Vault storage costs twice as much as on-character storage. For... the convenience of having to go somewhere to get your stuff?
