That's exactly what I was thinking, not really worth the resources put into it.

I liken it to Kim Jong-Il bragging about taking a piece of candy from South Korea.

Even if the US were to do this sort of thing, its be useless AND the owners of the MMO's that were hacked would have full ability to sue the government, making more money off the government than the hacking program raised in the first place.

Cpl things.
1) I for one welcome our new NK overlords. Even if they have apparently not yet discovered indoor heating for their advanced high-powered happiness-draining (look at that guy on the keyboard!) CRT-driven computrons. And thank His Eminence that he has gathered the top cutting edge minds on computer technology in the form of wizened old men who are obviously tech savy, taking notes on their as-yet unreleased beta-version iNotepads using their iPencils. Bleeding edge stuff people.

2) 6 million dollars? In two years? Well, hopefully they'll spend it on mac-and-cheese for their unhappy citizens (look at that guy on the keyboard again!) and not crazy money-making schemes they read about on the secret illicit wow-boards.

yes but that's 6.2 million dollars they didn't have before (minus PayPal's cut of course)

and when your average income is $0.03 per hour, $6.2 mil is a lot. And will pay for 4 extra missiles to aim at the "enemy"

I can't decide whether to laugh or facepalm. It's as funny as it is feeble.

So let me see if I read that right. They claim that 30 or so Hackers in North Korea are running bots in a couple of online games to sell money, items, and the like?

Um... .... This is different than all of the other bot runners in other games that originate in other countries ... how?

Well, it does let us know that if this is how they define "hacker", then we can ignore them as a cyber-terrorism threat.

Most likely the fact that it's a state sanctioned enterprise
