Paragon store Wishlist: Alright!

I've tried looking for the screenshot that showed this, but I was very sure I saw something with buttons and the words 'wish' or 'wishlist' written on it for various products on the page that you could also buy yourself. Assuming the information is correct and will make it into the final build,

YES!

I have friends I care about and those that are able to play City of heroes I've wanted to make sure they have a good time, if they want something that locked by monetary gates, it's good to know they can now use a wishlist so that I may legitimately buy costume pieces and services for them. Dealing with credit cards sneakily is just a bit too risky for the parties involved.

It would be cool if someone brought something for me too, but yeah, go wishlists!

I have a feeling the wishlist may be a personal one, not public, as I haven't seen anything which says we can buy things for other players yet.

Zwill recently mentioned they know it's a popular request, but not feasible at this time.

I too saw the wishlist and thought it meant what the OP did.

It was disappointing (to say the least) to see Zwill post that the other day. They need to reconsider and make it a priority for as soon after i21 as possible.

I hate to say it, but this is a really good example of a small bit of information being given out and blown into a certainty about an erroneous assumption. All the declarative "it WILL work like this!" statements in the OP are really sort of jarring.

I didn't see the wishlist and assume it would be useable by others - and not JUST because it's been discussed in at least three threads now - but because my bn.com digital book wishlist only works for me. It's the place I throw titles I hear about on NPR or read in a review that I want to remember to pick up later. I wish to own them, eventually. It has nothing to do with anyone else being able to buy them for me.

i was under the impression that a wishlist would work like the OP thought, or something similar to steams wishlist system

i personally think having a wishlist and nobody but yourself seeing it is kinda moot since you know what you want (unless your very forgetful in which case it could come in handy)

Sure, a store can call their lists whatever they want, but I'm used to "wishlist" meaning something you can share with others so they can buy the items on it for you, and "watchlist" meaning your own personal list of items to watch in case of sale. (On that note, do you receive a notification if a wishlist item is on sale? If not, this wishlist is getting less and less useful.)

I want to spend my money here, Paragon. Please find a way to make that happen.

It's a personal wishlist, not something viewable by others.

Like I said previously, we're aware that gifting is a desired feature.

Thanks!

I imagine that the point is for you to make a collection of things that you want soon but don't necessarily have the points for right now. That way you don't have to traverse the whole store to find the Arcane Hood, the Cyborg Arms, the Steampunk Boots and the Ninja Run travel power when you do have the money available. Or, so you know exactly what you're interested in, and can check back frequently to see if any of it goes on sale without trudging through all the stuff you already know you don't want.

Basically, I think it's less of a "wishlist" in the Amazon.com sense and more of a "favorites" section like you have on your web browser.

i dont have a problem just doing a filter search to find what im looking for lol

if they dont plan on having gifting as an option, then it would make more sense to be called "favorites" instead

I'd imagine that the idea is that you come up with this perfect character concept but you're going to need to buy this costume piece, that aura, and the other powerset. Your wishlist is your reminder about what all of those things were.

It makes some sense viewed from that perspective. I want gifting also, so I hope they get that in ASAP.

I don't have the original image anymore but this is the photo you saw I just photoshopped in the Rocketboard section.

The word Wishlist needs to be changed to something else since we won't be able to view other's wishlist and buy other players gifts.

I'm not arguing with you... just stating what I perceive to be the case.

I wouldn't actually call it "favourites" unless of course you plan on rebuying the same costume part several times over. That is the impression that "Favourites" gives me.

I *personally* have no problem with it being called "wishlist", even if it is just a personal one. Because, it is... you know... a wishlist of stuff that you would like (either immediately or for sometime in the future)

While I understand your sentiment, that precludes two things:

- Everyone has wishes and hopes and dreams...some are personal, some are shared. Why do you hate rainbows and unicorns? WHY DO YOU HATE FREEDOM WARDEN_DE_DIOS?

- To change it implies that we never intend on changing/improving it's functionality.

While we are aware that some commercial sites (such as Amazon) have a specific implementation of "Wish Lists", ours does is different, with room for change.

Yeah, it's like your "cart".
I like "wishlist" over "cart", so there!
You could call it... "saved items"... "reserved"... Booo, "wish" is better.
And yeah... Keep it "wishlist" and make things giftable and such in the future, win, win, win... Well, except nobody will ever buy me anything, because I'm just that person with that annoying forum avatar thingy...

Also... some wishes are meant to be kept to yourself.
Like your birthday wishes, before you blow out the candles.
And like a whole bunch of other wishes that I can't tell you about...
Secret stuff!!

Speaking of Birthday Cakes... it was my birthday and, since there was no cake beneath my name... hardly anyone (in these forums) knew!

I'm thinking Zwill needs to bring the cakes back to our forums.
No lie and no pie... These forums need cake.

Z, you should know better than to fuel the 'Unicorn as Mounts' lobby - they are militant and somewhat batcrap crazy
