Today's lack of information was caused by two things
1. We had a power outage this morning at Paragon. It took awhile for all of the working systems to come online, like intarwebz, but we're back up and running now.
2. On a less world impacting note, I am sadly at home sick, having finally succumb to the Con Plague. This means that if I were to host Ustream, it would be from my bed, me hacking and coughing, unshaven and unshowered, with my kids jumping on my head and pointing at the camera going "I WANT TO SAY HI TO EVERYONE!".
Granted, this would be more entertaining than one of my tangents, however my energy level just wouldn't be there...
Our apologies for how things played out this morning, but all things should be fully operational moving forward. I'll see you guys on Ustream tomorrow morning at 10:30 Pacific/6:30 BST come hell or high water.

Though the Ustream is a major spectator sport, the frustration experienced by the audience at not actually being able to see what's going on leads them to imagine that it's a lot more exciting than it actually is. A crowd that has just watched a rather humdrum Ustream experiences far less life-affirmation than a crowd that believes it has just missed the most dramatic event in gaming history.
I'm actually a bit shocked that I only had to replace 3 words in that quote.

Soo... My CoH folder is around 4 gigs, whereas my CoH Beta folder is over 9 gigs.
(I patch it whenever I can, can't stand seeing the red dot... and you also never know when a new forum will magically appear before your eyes)

There's no "I win" button being sold, but there are ways to make your character more powerful being sold. The ability to "buy power" is something I completely disagree with in a game where an advantage over other players matters. Really, all we can do in this game is help each other. There is no competition and no PvP (don't even try to tell me those zones exist). There is no disadvantage to players who don't buy power.
There's nothing in the store you can buy to make you overpowered. But you can make your character more powerful with cash. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but it's not something I'm against in this game.
