Height Disparity Between Dimensional Counterparts
Fusion/Fusionette and Jim/Jane Temblor are the opposite sex, and this is the detail that bugs you?

There are lots of things I find somewhat odd about this game. One of them is the strange difference in height between characters who are effectively the same person but of different dimensional origin. For example:
Reichsman is taller than Statesman. Both are supposed to be Marcus Cole. I haven't compared Emperor Cole yet, but he doesn't appear to exceed States in height. I haven't included Imperious in this comparison as he is an entirely different individual. Marauder is alot taller than Back Alley Brawler. Both are supposed to be Micheal White. One could argue that all those "health supplements" and "special medication" have had an effect on Marauders physiology, but its a bit roundabout. Valkyrie is taller than Battle Maiden. Now this one is debatable as it's entirely possible that Battle Maiden isn't Valerie Kellum. In fact she isn't even a Praetorian native (she's from War Earth). I expect there are others but those are the ones that immediately spring to mind. So.. um... yeah, what's up with that? |
In fact, I'm certain the Contact Marauder model that may also be used in the normal Praetorian arcs is actually shorter than the Trial version.
I speculate this since I notice Nightstar is a hell of a lot taller in the BAF than she is as a trainer.

Your comparing new models to old ones. Also, there are growth hormones in the water systems of Praetoria.
Height is also a trait that is determined by nurture as well as nature - so disparity could be explained by the characters different up-brinings.
I believe the reasons Reichsman, Marauder, and Battle Maiden are actually taller is to make them easier to see when people are fighting them during TFs and Trials.

It has been inferred that drinking from the Well affects you physically, and that is in part based on the person's metal state. Recluse doubled in size, gained spider-legs and a deformed face. Somewhere between the 1930s and 1980s, Statesman went from an athletic build to a body builder physique much as he grew into his role as the premier hero. Reichsman has slightly different powers than his Primal counterpart and a much more aggressive personality. It's not a stretch to suggest his personality influenced his transformation differently and he became a bit bigger; all the better to intimidate his subordinates.

My personal conspiracy theory:
Reichsman and the size-changing Science booster both made their first appearance in Summer of 2009. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!

They eat a lot more Wheaties in Praetoria.
(in reality, if you're fighting a AV, you kinda need them to be a bit taller than everyone else so as to "stand above" the crowd)

If different dimensional timelines were a real thing, probably some peoples' parents would end up conceiving them on different days, different times, or while having different life experiences, which could lead to a situation where different sperms and eggs are combining.
So, instead of your identical twin being born in that world, there's a good chance your fraternal twin gets born instead.
I noticed this too. The contact version of Marauder is about the same height as BAB in his trainer version.

The plastic tips at the end of shoelaces are called aglets. Their true purpose is sinister.

Old NPC used to be ridiculously tall...
I think they fixed it for Praetoria.
I mean, Swan and Valkirie... really? Ok to have some taller chicks, but they look weird and awful. Wish they get new costumes and some plastic surgery to look better than now.

As was Mentioned, nurture has a lot to do with height. Many studies have shown that historically the healthier a culture is, the taller the average height. Famine and long term drought will reduce the average height of a population, even in a single generation. Reference the nordic countries versus Asian countries - population growth puts a strain on the food supply. Though the Japanese eat a healthy diet, they don't eat a whole lot of it. (there is also a lot to do with genetics as well of course.) the avg height in America climbed for a long time but I think it's declining now.

I have a reason for them all!
Reichsman! He's fifth column, right? Their ubermensch-thingermadoodles are like, ten feet tall. They must have just given him some too.
And Battle Maiden? If she comes from a horrible dimension like that, there's a chance she was just malnourished as a child and thus smaller.
Marauder is tall with RAGE. It's how he scares predators away, sort of like how a pufferfish inflates itself?

You know who bugs me the most is Steven Sheridan.
For years, he's looked like this: Probably about 60 years old judging by his lined face and steel-gray hair. This is what he looks like. This is the character they have established.
Then, suddenly, the Going Rogue tries to tell me that this is the same person, despite obviously being twenty years younger. It's not even as if this is Praetorian Steven - when he introduces himself, he explains that he is from Primal Earth.
And the original Steven Sheridan standing outside the hospital in Brickstown remains unchanged.
WHAT.

Another thing I find confusing is that both Aurora Borealis and Mother Mayhem have the body of Aurora Scott, yet they look different. The hair color could be explained as dye, but why the heck is Aurora's skin considerably darker than Mother Mayhem? Does standing outside in IP give that much of a tan?

This bothers me, too. When I had Sheridan do a cameo in an AE arc, I resolved the problem by using a model that looked like neither of them. (Okay, I also did it that way to save memory ...)

Wouldn't surprise me, with all the unhealthy junk a lot of the population lives off of now a days.
But ya, the height disparity could handily be attributed to what that person lived off while they were growing.
