Discussion: Ten Ton Hammer Interview with Matt Miller at SDCC
Positron: Im not 100% sure what well be doing with that, but I believe that we are adding additional costume slots, so instead of 5 youll be able to have up to 10. Weve added so may new costume pieces that adding more costume slots is just logical. |
That was a good condensing of a lot of the info we've been getting for weeks. Good read.
That was a good article. Nothing new (if you obsess over every bit of new info the way I do), but as Chaos said above, it's a good recap of what we've learned to date.

If most people were to take a guess, it would be right before the Halloween Event by maybe 2 to 3 weeks.

I'm betting most people would be wrong.
The way I read Paragon Studio tea leaves says September.

Very excited about this Especially because of the +5 costume slots! Must... control... self! <3 freedom (:
I hadn't seen that bit about doubling our costume slots before. That will be awfully nice and something I'd pay for. I wonder if it's account wide or not?
That was a very good summary of everything and really shows things off well for someone thinking of entering the game for the first time.
Level 50 is a journey, not a destination.

So the focus group was made of people who post 12 times a day?

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

We know for a fact that Arcanaville was there. I wouldn't be surprised at all to find that other well-known forumites like Zombie Man or SnowGlobe were there, though neither of them has claimed attendance to my knowledge. I wouldn't even bat an eye if they'd invited Golden Girl... despite the way she gets on peoples' nerves sometimes, she's obviously very passionate about the game.
I honestly can't think of a better metric to pull together such a focus group.
(Unless of course there's a metric that had somehow included me. )

So far all developer commentary has said that anything that isn't specifically consumeable should be account-wide, so I think we can probably assume that any paid-for costume slots will go to all characters on the account.

I saw a screenie that showed costume slots 6-10 for sale in the new store. I forget how many points it took to buy each one - I want to say it was 800 each? I'm probably wrong but I assume they'd be account-wide like everything else in the store. I'll be buying a few over time for sure.
So... who exactly is the lead dev? War Witch or Positron? Was WW getting promoted just a misdirection? WW was lead dev only for the GR project? I'm confused.

But even if they're not I'll probably still buy a number of slots across several different characters ASAP. I'm one of those crazy people who've been waiting for extra costume slots for many years now so I'll get them pretty much any way they are offered.

The largest statistical bias I detected was the obvious fact that most of the participants clearly lived within a short distance from Paragon's Mountain View offices for obvious reasons.

Except that must also include potential critics in order to avoid it turning into an echo chamber. If not, then the risk is that previews may receive an unexpectedly negative reaction with little time for the devs to make adjustments.

I can also say this: while I won't out a focus group member unless they definitively do so first (and I reiterate my recommendation they don't do so unless they are really insane) I did recognize a few high post count forum participants and these people tended, on average, to be slightly more critical of various elements of Freedom, not less critical. I can only assume the reason is simply that as people used to expressing themselves, they were disinclined to lose the opportunity to make their constructive criticism heard for something as large as this.
