A few annoyances I'd like to see addressed

There are a number of things about this game that annoy the heck out of me. I'm sure the devs have their hands full with all the upcoming game enhancements, but it would be nice to fix existing issues as well.

1. Fix Collision Detection around doors/and npc vendors & with npc civilians -
- You're trying to interact with a vendor and some npc knocks you out of range.
- You're trying to click the portal in Ouroboros and someone else pops in and knocks you out of range.
- You're just standing somewhere minding your own business and some npc civilian rudely knocks you aside.

2. Clicking on npc vendors - You have to click the vendor "just the right way" or you dont get the interface dialog.

3. Losing the interace dialog with an npc vendor or at a crafting station.
Not sure why this keeps happening, but you'll be attempting to scroll or click a button and the dialog just closes.

4. Clicking on the guards shields to get into a hazard zone- again you have to click in "just the right spot". Same thing with doors in missions.

5. Having to wait several seconds to click on a door after someone else has entered.

6. Having to wait 10+ seconds after clicking a door to enter a mission. Having to wait another 10+ seconds after zoning through a door just to move.
( seems to happen more in highly populated zones )

7. General lag issues in trials. Either limit trials to 16 max or fix the problems with handling that many players.

8. Increase drop rates of SOs. Yes, I know, I'm one of the few who still use SOs while leveling, but I dont care to use IOs until level 50 (with a few exceptions, such as knockback IOs). Just my personal preference. And someone new to the game will not have a level 50 alt to finance purchasing of SOs from vendors.

9. Drop level of enhancements and recipes. If I kill a level 20 enemy, I should get a level 20 enhancement or recipe. I have no use for enhancements 2 levels below me.

10. Take temp powers off the drop table and move them to npc vendors. This was a nerf to the drop rate of normal items, and was uncalled for.

11. Increase the drop rate of orange recipes. From what I've seen lately, if you dont do tip missions or farm tickets, it would probably take over a year to slot out a character with just orange enhancements. The old drop rate was fine - the current drop rate is abysmal.

12. Remove collision detection with friendly MM mobs.

13. Characters infrequently stuck in "standing" position while flying. This happens several times a week and forces me to stop/restart the fly power.

14. If I set a mission to +0, I should get +0 mobs. Not +1. My squishies would greatly appreciate it.

There's a +1/-1 spawn variable that gets determined when entering the mission. If the spawns are too difficult, then a solution can be to reset the mission (i.e., exit the mission, choose a different mission to abandon the first, and then rechoose the mission that you want).

Your 11. Drop rates have not changed

Your 14. keep flying, it normally fixes itself for me after a couple of seconds, especially if you bank left or right

This is an issue with your computer and/or connection. It never happens to me, and my computer sucks.

If you're not using your invention/salvage drops, then you should be selling them. Even if you just vendor them, they should provide plenty to slot your characters without help. It always works for me.

9. Drop level of enhancements and recipes. If I kill a level 20 enemy, I should get a level 20 enhancement or recipe. I have no use for enhancements 2 levels below me.
For recipes, this is true, with the exception of when you (for example) get a Karma (level 10-30) from a level 31 foe; then it's going to be max level for the recipe. Likewise, if you get a Luck of the Gambler (25-50) from a level 24 foe, it will be 25. TO/DO/SOs have a bit of randomization to them. I wouldn't complain if they evened it out a bit though. They seem to drop underlevel FAR more often than over.

Temp powers were added to the same drop pool as costume recipes. They have no effect on the drop rate of Invention Recipes. The drop rate of the costume/temp pool was increased when temp powers were added, making them show up more often, but this is NOT at the expense of other drops. They do make your inventory fill a bit faster, but if that really bothers you, delete them.

The drop rate wasn't changed. And Rare means Rare. Why should Rare recipes be common?

12. Remove collision detection with friendly MM mobs.
Didn't they already do this?

13. Characters infrequently stuck in "standing" position while flying. This happens several times a week and forces me to stop/restart the fly power.
Getting a neutral or wrong emote/pose is the result of a bad network connection. This never happens to me. Again, it's either your computer or your connection.

If you set your difficulty to +0, then the BASE difficulty is +0. All missions (except ones on outdoors maps) have a random chance for enemies to spawn a level higher than the base difficulty. In addition, missions can be "frontloaded" or "backloaded" meaning that the enemies at the front can be up to 2 levels higher (in frontloads) or lower (in backloads) in the front of the mission, and up to 2 levels lower (in frontloads) or higher (in backloads) than the base difficulty. This is working as intended. If you want to keep the enemies +0 at most, only do outdoors missions, or set your difficulty to -1 - That IS why they added it, after all.

Not sure if it's the same thing, but sometimes when I turn on Ninja Run while moving, I stay in the normal run animation, especially when I'm experiencing high network latency. Turning, strafing, jumping, or just stopping and moving again all fix it. In all cases, it's because I'm going into a new animation, so the server is re-sending the command to start a new animation.

This happens to me when the mission door is a helicopter, like the ones in Faultline or RWZ (where you click the NPC standing by the chopper's loading ramp and they wave you on). It also happens on the Mercy Island Black Helicopter up by Ghost Widow's tower.

I've never had this happen on just a normal door (Except during some events where the lag is just ridiculous, like the Praetorian Surge on Freedom).

No, they made them "pushable." You still collide with them, but it'll push them out of the way, eventually. It doesn't work very well though, and still leads to annoying door blockage, it's just kinda easier to fix.

The only collision detection they recently removed, as far as I'm aware, was for Seeker Drones because Protector Bots had a ridiculous habit of summoning them and then getting stuck on their own drones.

I've only ever noticed this happening on the Boats in Cimerora, but good lord it's annoying. I'd definitely like to see this fixed.

Bug or "feature", I agree with the OP that it's annoying. Being required to set to -1 just so you won't get mauled by a room arbitrarily full of orange lieutenants is like having to take a pay cut to get your office moved out of the boiler room.

I agree with these, although it seems the "door problem" only happens with the newer entrances, such as in Praetoria. Where did the coding get botched at?

I guess that depends on your definition of rare. If I run a TF or Trial and get one orange recipe, to me that's rare. Once every several days is well beyond rare. And I'm not 100% certain the drop rate has not been changed - oranges used to drop quite more often - at least for me.

Guess I'll go back to farming tickets for now, at least randoming on bronze level recipes seems to work far better than doing normal content.

8. We specifically asked for less junk Enhancer drops. Those changes mean you're less likely to get off origin or marginal use types of enhancer. Sorry it disagrees with your personal style, but it's what most people wanted (not to feel obligated to vendor after every mission). The money argument is moot as well, because unless a new person forces themselves to only level with people at character level or below, they will get enough drops to fund vendor purchased enhancers with INF to spare.

10. Temp powers are their own drop table. They have no negative effect on recipe rates or other items. In fact you can get a temp power, recipe, and salvage off the same kill.

11. as others said, rare recipes are rare. Your observer error laced anecdote about days between rare drops is noted, but not relevant.

14. Spawn rules for standard mission progression have been largely unchanged since launch. There has always been the chance for some +1 in a mission, and squishies have always had to deal with them. The only time this might be problematic is in the earliest levels or when spawning a mission at a setting higher than +0x1. Neither of which are a baseline situation, and the former at least has been largely dealt with in the past.

Conclusion- some of your ideas are ok. Some are based on misunderstanding of the system. Most shouldn't get the kind of global change you're proposing. I don't mind individually set filters so you can get drops (in a fair amount) more to your liking, however I don't like sweeping global changes to a drop system that is working pretty well for most people.

Um actually what you do is put lvl 32-35 base IO's in there and get the same bonus as lvl 50 SO's and don't buy anymore til you hit 50. you actually save more inf in the long run if you craft them yourself.

Nicely put. Thanks for explaining this. <smile>

As someone who also levels with SOs: just selling all of your drops (salvage, recipes, and enhancements of other Origins or powersets) will make you more than enough inf to buy a full set of SOs every five levels. MUCH more.

I remember when 5 million inf was considered a lot...

Adding to the list:

- Missions with no clear objective ( i.e. "Investigate the Warehouse" ) - which leaves you the question - is that find a glowie? Kill All? Find a boss? All of the above?

- Missions that dont tell you they're "Kill All" until you finish the other objectives

- Inability to delete recipe stacks like you can with salvage.

- Power trays "resetting" after a respec. It should preserve placements of powers that you keep.

- Leagues being randomized after entering a trial. Private leagues should preserve both team composition and the leader.

This! After 7 years here, with all the Booster Packs, the temp powers, and Vet powers, I dread doing a respec on my main. The last one I did, all nine trays were filled to overflowing. And the primary and secondary powers were almost the last ones placed in the trays. I spent way more time putting things back where they belonged than I did actually doing the respec. And the worst part is, I messed up on a power pick, and will have to do it all again!

This is what the Lock Button is for.

I've seen the lock feature fail on several occasions & personally, I think private leagues should auto-lock.

Then pull your powers down from the powers window to wherever you want them. After five years here, I don't have enough powers that I use often enough to merit more than 5 (maybe 6) power trays open. You don't have to have a spot for every temp power you've ever earned. Honest Injun!

THAT SAID!!! I *do* wish they would preserve icon placement for "chosen power exists both before and after respec", but there is an alternative to fumbling through completely full power trays.

Never knew about that command, thanks. I obviously don't spend enough time memorizing the slash commands. But it isn't that I want to have every temp power out. I actually only keep out a couple. I just had to laboriously go through and remove each one from the trays, then put all the powers I do want in the right places, like all the teleports in tray 9 on the right side of my screen. The only character I have 5 trays up for is my main, with the original 3, plus one for all of the Accolade powers and the teleporters.

Ok, a couple more things.

"Allies" in missions

1. Allies should be given superspeed and should not be effected by your invisibility powers. In most missions with an ally, I just leave them behind - they slow me down.

2. Ally aggressiveness should be toned down. (i.e. narrow the aggro radius ) Even better - have them attack only mobs that you choose to attack.

Rescue/Kidnap Missions

I hate these missions with a passion.

1. Rescued npcs are slow .... as .... Christmas. You usually have to turn off even sprint to allow them to keep up. At a minimum, give them sprint speed.

2. Rescued npcs cannot see through your invisibility power. So you have to turn that off as well. On my squishies, thats usually my only defensive power. This really needs to change.

3. Rescued npcs tend to get stuck on a pebble in the path. Their pathing logic needs some enhancing.

Personally, I wish these missions would be phased out completely. I hate dragging an npc to the mission entrance.
