Maybe. But the art direction in city of heroes seems to be ignoring the main hero costume: spandex. Hence my gripe.

These look pretty cool, though I'm not sure I'll be able to pick them up with my vet rewards... I'm not far enough along, if I'm reading the Tier stuff well enough. I'll be up for 72 months in August, I think.

Actually, this is probably Tyriel's one real claim to fame all told. And it just serves to highlight how ****** the old FMVs we fawned over really are in retrospect

Ok that's pretty cool, I'd love a light tentacle wing set of some sort

How much more can they do with spandex though, really? They have a ton of patterns, and honestly, "Hey! check out these new tights patterns!" isn't exactly ComicCon reveal type material...hell,I wouldn't even mention them specifically until the bottom of the page on CoH.com promos if there were new ones (which there may well be) The system isn't set up to handle asymmetry so...what else could they do with spandex?

It's nothing close to "city of anime" until:

-males can wear shirts like this http://images.wikia.com/dgrayman/images/3/31/4rfrvr.jpg

and

-low cut jackets like this
http://uploads.dragonballencyclopedi...unks_photo.jpg

Only then may you complain

The armor here doesn't look remotely animeish it's more like Dr Fate crossed with Fear Itself/4th world and that Axe/Hammer looks like an Ultimate Mjolnir

Any word if buying it only unlocks it for 50s? Are we able to just get parts of the set? I only want the weapons and the wings maybe the kilt thing too

The glowie costume bits have a Thor and GL feeling to them, which might not be your cup of tea, but calling all this City of Anime is... kind of not accurate.

If you have to ask "what else can be done with Spandex" you obviously don't read enough comics. This game has only scratched the surface of the type of skin-tight costumes that are out there.

I have my 48 month badge, currently... Depending on exactly when Freedom hits, I'll probably have my 51 by the time it's live. My sub is actually paid up at this point through July 2012, which I think would be a just past my 60 month badge under the current system.

Sure, more can be done, but, they'd be variations on the same themes. Branching out into other areas brings in more variety.

Besides, this isn't City of Western Superhero Comic Books Heroes. Even if it was, Western Superhero Comics is full of examples of adapting styles of other genres. This is City of Heroes, and many genres are welcome.

Besides, we all know that almost nothing they do can generate a positive response from you at this point. When proven wrong how the Celestial pieces are indeed reflective of Western Superhero Comic Books, you don't apologize, you change the snark. So, I'm not expecting an apology for your current mischaracterization that this has become City of Anime, no matter how patently disconnected from reality that statement can be proven to be.

The Rogue Isles, Lord Recluse, Ghost Widow, Scirroco, Captain Mako, and Black Scorpion all disagree.

Perhaps "City of Anime" was incorrect. "City of Generic Scifi" might be more accurate.

Let's say that in September you get your 51 month badge and then FREEDOM go Live. The Tokens you receive from the Vet System are:

N/3 + N/12 = 17 + 4 = 21.

Sept thru July is 10 months for 10 Tokens, and let's throw in a Yearly Token for 11.

Being subscribed July through September will not only earn you 1,200 in Paragon Points, you'll also get 3 Tokens. At least, I think you do.

That's 35 Tokens. It only takes 34 Tokens to fill Tier 8. That leaves you 1 Token to spend on one of the Three Tier 9 VIP costume blocks. You can wait two more months to get the other two, or, you can add 2 more months to your subscription, or, you can purchase 2,400 Points and get the 2 Tokens that come with it.

I'm not seeing it, ZM. o_0

*If* they give me the lump sum for what I've pre-paid when freedom goes live plus all of my vet time, I'll basically have 60 months worth of tokens, plus the 5 extra "yearly" ones when all's said and done.

60/3 + 60/12 = 20 + 5... so 25.

Where are the extra 10 you're adding coming from? There's no way I'll end up with 35 tokens as far as I can see. Unless that's not how they're coming up with what "prepaid" time is worth, token-wise? I don't know.

ETA: Ah. I see what you did... You're counting the post-Freedom paid time under the new system rather than the existing one. That's making a generous assumption (If I were a Paragon Studios bean-counter, I'd do it the way I calculated it since the purchase was made under the "non-freedom" system, but they may not think that way-), and for obvious reasons I hope you're right. XD

I am annoyed City of Heroes is not this, will never be this, and has no intention of ever being this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superhe...stume_features

I have no idea why you typed all that.

I thought this was City Of Trenchcoats?

And yeah... I wish I could get these new pieces and weapons when they come out.

I might be able to swing it, if I want to put down a year's sub when it goes live. Not positive that I want to, but that could be interesting, if the math works out.
Can you do a year, then another 6 months, at the same time? Hehe...

Well, after seeing that he just plain ignored my response, and seeing that he's general behaviour in the forums is always like this and the lack of ignore button in the forums, I'll opt to simply skip his posts.

No need to be rude mate. We can disagree without having to offend each other.

Every post I make? I don't think I've had enough open discourse with anyone in this thread for such a conclusion to be made. I tend to be very blunt when I write posts. It's not intended to be rude, just quick and to the point. Apologies if I've ruffled any feathers, genuinely wasn't my intention.

How was that post worthy of that comment? He pointed out that there are many comic book elements in game, and responded to the rest of the original post.

But eh, just leave it. I feel like we have a lot of tight and classic superhero options already, but more patterns for them probably would be a good thing.

I know it's unlikely, but introducing a third colour and/or asymetrical patterns would be amazing.
