Hoverboard travel power? At WALK speed? Surely it would be at least Sprint speed, or just a Travel Emote / Aura deal that modifies the graphics of another power. Hovering at the speed of WALK is like teleporting at the speed of HOLD.

Yeah, let me edit that. The one who reported it said it was like Walk in that other powers grey out. I thought he meant it had the same speed. He's going to get the Real Numbers figure on it's flight speed tomorrow.

Although, I remember when Hover was practically Walk speed.

It just felt really slow. But then, I can barely use fly because it feels so slow. The only travel power I really enjoy is Super Jump.

Well if they are going the whole walk route and greying out powers for non conventional travel powers I want a flying unicorn damnit!

Yea, when I first picked up the power back in beta I was all excited and ran off to hover up to the train in Atlas Park. My excitement about the flight pool then ceased until I leveled up and picked up the actual flight power.

On the plus side, if you draw dual pistols right before activating the Hover Board, you'll keep them drawn for a while. It looks kind of cool.

I'm sure the issue with the new flight powers (Afterburner and Hoverboard) is that there are no animations for being in that state and using powers. And adding them in for three different models is several hundred new animations.

So then we do have to spend points on powersets? Or at least the street justice one? Aw man.

you mention october, i just got home from work and havent had time to sift, but is that the soft target for issue 21?

Do we have any idea if the Freedom store is going to be interfacing through the NCsoft store, or will be more like the one in which you must log into the game to buy character slots/rename tokens?

I only ask because you have to use your subscription credit card for the latter, but the NCsoft Store allows Paypal, which is where my "fun money" goes....

I don't know that it's a soft target exactly. Or at least I've not run into any dev comments indicating that. It's more of an educated guess on the player's part based on previous issue release timing.

Personally I was thinking more a late September timing myself, but that's really close enough to October that it doesn't really matter much.

I don't know, but I hope we have to purchase the points through the NCSoft store too.

Do VIPs still have to buy new powersets?

Will be able to buy the equivalent of one of the booster packs, ie all the costume packs and snazzy powers etc, in one go with one payment, and will it be more or less than what we currently pay for them?

Ideally, I'd like my current CoH expenditure (yearly sub plus purchase if any and all booster packs when they cone out) to not change, and I want everything that's available.

Apparently yes, VIPs still have to buy some of them. They're still getting Time Manipulation included though at least.

I kind of expect they're hoping even VIPs will end up paying more money under Freedom than they have in previous years. Though I also kind of hope that the point stipend they'll get will manage to take a bit of the edge off. I personally don't think saving up two months of your stipend for a powerset is all that bad (honestly, I'm ok with just straight-up buying a powerset for $10 if I'm interested in making a character who uses it to tell the trugh), but I'm sure others think differently.

Did you read the second post with the quote from Positron?

Yeah, we're going to have to pay for Street Justice and Beam Rifle.

I'll clarify one piece of misinformation while I am here:

Street Justice and Beam Rifle are Premium Powersets, and all players will need to purchase them to unlock them on their account (similar to how we had locked powersets behind the purchase of Going Rogue).

I'm pretty sure Posi or someone already mentioned that VIPs get ATs and sets as part of their sub automatically.

ATs yes...not all sets though. You can use your monthly stipend to buy the sets that don't come with VIP, though.

True, but if the monthly is 400 and the Sets are 800 each...
Eh, should be ok anyway. Heck, not like I'd adverse to giving PS my money

Or you could wait a month.
