Aww, I was hoping the devs would take leave of their sanity and port /traps to controllers. Oh well, it'll be interesting to see if they'll buff poison in general while tinkering with it for proliferation, it could really use some love.

Sad for no Ice Melee for stalkers. But they've shown when they release "half" a pairing, they fairly quickly kick out the other half. (Earth Control/Elec Assault to Elec Control/Stone Assault?)

the 1 thing I wanted isn't there, but I can't let my self-interests overshadow this big ball of awesome.

Hopefully that Ice Armor on Stalkers means they're at least thinking of moving some Ice Melee love around the melee ATs.

I suspect an Ice Melee for stalkers in an i21.5 along with whatever they're doing with doms.

(Which I theorize would be a revamped Illusion alternative called Shadow Control with a Dark Assault set. Just a hunch, but it just seems natural.)

I certainly hope Ice Melee is ported to Stalkers quickly. I'm one of those that want to get at least one of every AT to 50, but thus far have been unable to find a Stalker pairing I really like. I then thought about the idea of Ice Stalkers, and began to really like the idea. I don't have any Ice characters, and there is just something about an Ice Stalker that I really like.

That the first step towards my Ice Stalker is complete, I eagerly await the proliferation of the Primary.

The only important part of this announcement is that Energy Aura may actually become playable. Guess I'll put my Kin/EA on the back-burner until then, since he's not even high enough for most of the important changes.

Now that I think about it, wasn't Energy Aura (edit: originally) made to replace Ice Armor?

I certainly do hope that porting Energy Aura to Scrappers does not mean that Ice Armor will not. That would be pretty lame, to be honest.

Dark Blast looks the most exciting to me. I've wanted to make a more offensive-oriented Dark Blast user but the lack of a good 3rd-tier attack in Corr/Defender is just not really fitting. Looks like Blaster's version is going to be better.

The only thing I am not too sure is this: Torrent and Nightfall were merged into a single power

I rarely use Torrent because I am not a fan of strong aoe knock back to begin with, but I love Nightfall.

And Blaster's version actually has Aim!!!! Ugh... I really wish they could have improved Dark Blast when they improved Dark Melee. Life Drain needs a serious damage buff. Its damage scale is just so darn low. If they don't want to give it more damage, then at least they can reduce endurance cost and recharge so we can drain faster.

Blaster's version looks like a perfect mix of damage and controls with a single hold.

I’m pretty happy with this list even if I don’t have a half dozen character ideas that are now made possible by these combinations. That said, I’ve had a controller concept in my mind for awhile that I think I could make work with a Poison secondary. I would just hope that the set gets some alternate animations too – the “spit” animations (can’t remember how many there are) just don’t work well for the idea I have in mind. Still, I could roll with it for awhile.

If I do a post about Alternate Animations, do you think we’ll get another Intrepid Informer on that subject in the next 24 hours too?
