Ok, i finally realized its time to get a new pc. I figured it out when i had enough time to shave while my ncsoft launcher loaded up CoH.I am always in safe mode otherwise it blue screens within 20 minutes.

I need a new desktop that will blow my old gaming experience away, all i need is a tower, any suggestions?

Heck, we could probably find you something to run the game at max ultra setting, if you really wanted us to. But there are two things the people that live and breathe hardware will need to know;

1: Are you comfortable assembling a new computer from the ground up from the base parts?
2: What is your budget?

Pre Assembled and $500-$600

Well first, we don't know what you currently have so it's kind of tough to judge what's required to "blow my old gaming experience away".

And second, $600 isn't a lot for a gaming PC.

Doing a quick look at NewEgg I get these. The best of these in my opinion is this one. It has the fastest video card and CPU of those four.

The other choice is going to iBUYPOWER or CyberpowerPC and configure a system more suitable to your budget and vendor preferences.

I stand corrected. Thanks for that info Father Xmas. I also agree with using iBUYPOWER. That's where I got my new system this year, but my budget was $1,000 and I'm thrilled with what I got.

I bought a computer from Walmart.com that's an iBUYPOWER. I got it on special for $400 (normally 650, I think) and I'm very happy with it. I went from absolute minimum settings(10-20fps) to ultra mode (not full ultra mode, I still have no use for shadows and they do drop the frame rate a little) going at 40-70fps. It's literally like night and day.

Speaking of walmart - how's Fred?

You young whippersnappers and your pre-assembled computers! Get off my lawn!

Seriously though, assembling a computer can allow you to slowly expand and end up with a nice, high end system over a period of time. I have been building my own for decades and have a hard time doing anything else, outside of the laptops I purchase.

If you are not comfortable assembling you own computer, do you know someone that is and works cheap? Like say for a pizza and/or beer. My buddy just asks for a 6 pack of 20 oz diet, caffeine-free Pepsi. But I rarely find anything anymore I am uncomfortable assembling. Take a look at Father Xmas links for Newegg computer specs. You could save some $ if you could re-use some things from your old comp.

Installing most of the stuff is dead simple. I could understand being hesitant about installing/mounting the CPU heatsink and fan. Find someone to help with that and watch over your shoulder for the rest of it. Next time you'll be comfortable doing the whole thing yourself.

A lot of online stores allow you to purchase the parts so you get exactly what you want, and then will assemble it (and sometimes even preload/test it) for you, for a fairly resonable cost if you are not comfortable doing it yourself. You can get a better system this way instead of doing a prebuilt system, and one that you can easily upgrade in the future.
