Ghost of Scrapyard
Dear OP: Giant Monsters are _designed_ to be beaten by, roughly, ten or twelve ordinary, not-built-for-crazy-stuff, characters. They con deep purple for a reason.

An ArchVillain for 8 players.
A Giant Monster for 3 full teams.
Power creep over seven years have altered that a little bit.
But the point is that if a bunch of newbie players with little game knowledge (e.g., don't know about how to leverage -Regen) and inefficient slotting (six slotted Brawl) decided to pile on a Giant Monster and just mash buttons (Gale! Gale! Gale!)... they better have 3 teams.

My necro/dark MM took down Scrapyard solo, and I don't think I even needed any temp powers. I do believe he was fully Alpha'd out (though he had none of the other Incarnate powers at the time), so he had a level shift, anyway.
Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...
I've done it myself with a Rad/Sonic Defender. (Granted, it was only Kraken, but a GM is a GM)
Bots MMs can most definitely solo one, but not at level 29. At 50 with the appropriate IOs it gets much easier.
The most common GM soloers are various forms of Illusion controller. Usually Rad or Cold.
I've seen video of it being done with a blaster, and I think someone pulled it off with a Dark Melee/Shield Defense scrapper as well.
With the advent of Incarnate powers, the variety of ATs and builds that can do it has dramatically increased. Even under the "no temp powers" rule, Incarnate abilities still count because they are not temp powers.
Edit: D'OH!
Didn't notice the necro, so I posted and said almost the exact same thing I said the first time I posted in the thread 3 months ago.

heh so far I have only managed Scrappy, Adamaster, and Jurassic so far solo on my Fire/Rad Corr.
Alts on all servers, lvl 50 of every AT:
lvl 50 Heroes on all servers but; Pinnacle, Victory
lvl 50 Villains on all servers but; Guardian, Pinnacle, Triumph, Victory
Current Projects: Tanks
Official MOM of Tribal Alliance
I have soloed Adamaster on my main, an Inv/SS tank. Took forever. But it was long before Incarnates. I don't think we had IOs even, but I could be wrong. It has been a long time either way.

Far from true. Most GMs are easily doable by 3-4 upper-level characters. Some GMs are easier (Kraken, Ghost of Scrapyard), some harder (Lusca, U'kon Gr'ai), and some more frustrating to fight (Caleb, Arachnos Helicopter), but you rarely *need* a full team.

very true.. anyone that knows me knows I enjoy fighting GMs.. team can range from 3,4 or even a couple teams depending on who all is available and wants the badge!
Lets see
Took down Babbage in Boomtown .. 4 man team (3 contollers and one Tank)
Took down Adamaster in Dark Astoria .. 4 man team (2 defenders, 1 controller and one warshade [in Dwarf mode serving as the tank])
Took down Kraken in Perez Park .. 5 man team (2 blasters, 1 defender, one scrapper and one tank) .. Oh and while we were battling him a zombie invasion broke out and we wound up getting those badges too.
Lusca can be a pain but these days one good team can handle her easily.. years ago, before IOs and purpled out builds, most people wouldn;t get near that giant squid with less than 2 teams and even then it could get nasty.. I left one failed attempt with over 100,000 debt on a 20 level character ...this was before patrol xp could wipe that out over night . It took almost an entire level to get rid of that.
There are players out there that have spent billions on their build and they can and do attack and defeat GMs with ease.. But to me the fun has always been in assembling a team to defeat one.

I managed Scrapyarder once... Not something I'd like to repeat, as the MM I tried it on lacked any sort of way to keep him still. And he wouldn't bloody stop moving; He skirted the edge of some drones twice, didn't mind the first time, but the second time he was at 25% health (I was swearing. A lot). Also he seems to like arachnos bases, jumping up and down from the tall walls, forcing me to follow

At one point I managed to get him as he was spawning over in the Graveyard, far from any drones... except then he tore off into the factory and jumped everywhere in the walls.

yeah. I've gone after Scrappy with my own Bots / Dark multiple times... on most of them he just takes off running and get's himself droned.

I made a passing attempt at Scrapyard once...never again.

We will honor the past, and fight to the last, it will be a good way to die...
My Bots/Force can solo GoS (and Deathsurge, never bothered to try any other GMs, the two I've done were spontaneous: ohh look! ...I wonder if I can... moments).
He wasn't built specifically to take hard targets solo, but he was built to be nigh unkillable and have good pet damage output, so, same diff, I guess.
Oh, this was also without temps, but with T4 Musculature Core. It would be a lot easier (read: faster, it took close to 10 minutes for Scrappy, don't recall the time on Deathsurge) with the rest of the Incarnate powers.
