Do we get a badge for invasions?

...because the lag is so bad it's a slideshow and I keep getting 'served. I'm not going to continue unless badges are involved.

And on the Freedom one, is that badge handed out at the beginning or at the end? If it's this bad on Champion, there's no way I can participate on Freedom beyond their arrival.

If we can get 2500 people on Freedom for the May 27th final event (starts at 4:00 p.m. PDT), then the badge will be available over Memorial Weekend on all servers. Please come out and join us for the event!

And the Crew of the Galactic Pelican (Virtue) made new toons on Freedom and have been leveling them up for the past couple weeks so we can participate in the fun on the 27th. Looking forward to the insanity!

My question is...

If we don't reach the magic number of 2500 on Freedom at the same time, say we hit a maximum of 2200 are we all just out of luck?

I'd hate to be the Dev/OCR that had the unfortunate task of informing us the next day, thats for sure.

I've avoided Freedom for 7 years as my rig was subpar. I've got a new one now but still avoided it for various reasons. All the same, when I heard about this 'Crash us please' request I went ahead and rolled up my namesake and have been slowly leveling, hoping to atleast be 14 before the 27th.

I really hope we make the 2500 mark. Though I was quite shocked to learn there has never been more than 3500 on a server at once... Even during DxP.

As an aside, This last update by Beastyle makes it sound like you don't even have to bother logging in to freedom to get the badge. As long as we reach that # it'll be server wide for the memorial weekend. I would've thought it would only be avail to those that endured the lagfest but okay.

Part of the lag here is, yes, a large number of people in the zone at once.
Part of it is a large number of people on the server.

But part of this lag is the fact that people are using the League interface.
Either the bandwidth requirements for the League interface are just too huge for the client to handle or it's sending a bunch of info (like buff icon data) that aren't needed. And the large the league gets, the worse it is. Simply breaking into individual teams relieves a good chunk of the lag.

Also, they want 2500+ on simultaneously. They didn't say you had to all be in the same zone. Or even participating in the event.

Log in, find a nice, quiet corner someplace, and park. Or dig into a mish and just stay in there.

At least there is chance for some people to get a badge. Due to family complications and time zone issues I'm likely to miss both the invasion and then the badge award window by a matter of hours.
