Getting Re-Acquainted With An Old Friend (CoX)

I have these two up almost constantly while I'm playing to review stuff or find out how stuff works.
Welcome back to the game Sylvanus.
As someone who also came back to the game from an extended break I can whole heartedly recommend the following resources:
- Obviously check out the official forums (which you seem to have found without problem )
- The City of Heroes Facebook page will also help you keep up to date on everything the Paragon team is working on and highlights Community content as well.
- You can also follow us on Twitter
- Catch up with us on Ustream every week for our Community Coffee talk, or when we have unplanned downtimes, and once a month for an "official" Dev Chat.
- The Paragon Wiki is a great Community run resource that even the Paragon team uses quite frequently.
- Check out the Titan Network for a ton of great resources, character builders, badge trackers, etc...
And there are a ton more great resources out there including streaming internet radio, podcasts, and other Community groups. All you have to do is look for them .
Welcome back to the City and may your return be an extended one.

Z you forgot the Mentor Project that is a great place to get help ingame from other players whether you are new or just returning to the game.

What additional items, programs and material should I be looking for? |
- An entire new starting area, Praetorian Earth, in addition to Paragon City and the Rogue Isles.
- Incarnate content - a way to acquire new powers for your 50's.
- Alignment - the ability to switch sides, i.e. you can convert a Mastermind to a hero or a Blaster to a Villain. There are also 'in between' alignments (Rogue and Vigilante).
Paragon City Search And Rescue
The Mentor Project
Most of the good ones are taken: Paragon Wiki, these forums, COH Titan data.
There is also Mids, a standalone program that lets you build your heroes off line. It's a great planning tool.

It may be a bit hard to use at work, as the interface is kind of game-like, and it would probably be obviously "not work related" if your boss saw it. But it is an off line tool, and a very decent one.
Imagine that I'm re-learning from scratch. What should I do? What would be good resources to go by? What additional items, programs and material should I be looking for? What outside sites and 3rd party programs should I look at? Which ones should I avoid?
In short, I'm thrusting myself back in to CoX. There were many aspects of CoX that I never really explored. Rather than go slowly back over everything, I was wondering if there were some good & handy guides (yeah, I know about the new in-game help thingy). I'm looking more for stuff that I can peruse online during breaks. Basic combat and movement, I get. I have some impressive and not-so-impressive builds. One of which, though the build is cool the alt would no longer be using claws. I'd have to "re-roll" him completely. :/ Ah well. I appreciate your guidance in advance. |
Just saying.

That should round out a few things so far. Definitely check out ParagonWiki and poke around here on the boards.

Thanks for all the suggestions and for the warm welcome back!
