Make them look like actual trench coats instead of butt capes.

And let us wear them over jackets. Military trenchcoats ftw

Agreed. If I have a character I want to wear a trenchcoat, I just use the Baron jacket now. The Steampunk pack looks like it'll have a good option, too...

Issue 16 made me feel like this.

I would like to see the coat bottoms curl around front, and come with a few more styles (straight down, for example, rather than flared in anyway).

@Winter. Because I'm Winter. Period.
I am a blaster first, and an alt-oholic second.

I'd be satisfied with Trench Coats that were closed in front. Would it really be that hard to do?

I dunno, Tsoo show that those robes don't look too bad. And it's not like the legs would clip through the skirt/robe since there are no legs to clip through them.

In theory, a better trechcoat could be made if the cape part was set higher up the back than at the waist, and the magic booster high collar cape, and even the over-the-shoulder cape shows we can have capes that curve around our bodies a little.

So I'll /sign the OP's suggestion and Techbot's suggestion (Can I call you my robot brother? I mean we kind of have a lot of shared viewpoints, even though I am a fleshbag) and would like to add my own proposal of letting EVERYONE have waist/butt cape access.

Wrong, actually. Someone demo-edited the Tsoo sorcerors and even some CoT to do MA high kicks...and it actually didn't look too bad. Not 100% perfect, sure...but given how much clipping there is in costume pieces anyway, I frankly don't buy that excuse anymore.

And yes, Azure, I hearby promote your fleshling self to the status of Honourary Robot Wear the title proudly!

I want baron jacket and Mother Mayhem trenchcoat for females.
I want a closed jacket top as option for trenchcoat.
I want "magic bolero" all in plain leather for male, brutes and females.
With a tattered option too. So badass, something like this:

why hasn't it been done?

Mostly because back during the Cryptic days there were no resources dedicated to such improvements.

When NCSoft / Paragon Studios started hiring for Going Rogue, all resources were tasked to Going Rogue development projects, so no resources available for this type of work.

With Going Rogue out, Paragon Studios now has both the time and if sales records were right, the financial resources to now tackle such projects. Granted the developers have been pretty stated that they really don't pay attention to threads in the "for fun" section of the forums, such as this thread. Rather the art-developers have their own official threads for suggestions, and they tally up requests made in the official threads.

For trenchcoats, the best way to communicate to the developers that we want such an update is to go and post in Nobel Savage's thread here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=219809

I would just like to have a non-leather trenchcoat.

It doesn't look too bad on them because CoT mages and Tsoo Sorcerers have robes instead of legs. In order for it to look "not too bad, not 100% perfect", the full robes would have to be a leg option for players, not a chest, pants, or belt option.

...yes? Given the Tsoo Sorcerors already have no tops on except tatoos and a belt-down robe thing...

Technically, the pants options for legs involves us losing our upper legs, and i think the top half of our lower legs too.
