I'm glad it looks like they're getting more elaborate with the final battle between Harry and Voldemort. I hope they do the same with Snape's last encounter with Voldemort in the book.

i so want to see that movie.
I hope this last movie is worth it. I've seen all the other Potter movies so far and for some reason I consider HP7 part 1 to be pretty much the worst one so far. I'm hoping that with part 2 I can reevaluate both parts as a single installment and think better of the two movies together as a complete effort.

But HP7.1 was still my pick for the worst installment so far. It was too slow and plodding in some areas while other parts were clearly rushed and/or glossed over. Basically it was badly edited and really felt like the franchise was just "phoning it in" at that point.
I'm still hoping Part 2 will in some way vindicate Part 1 and make the product as a whole seem more worthwhile.

I don't recall it being terrible, though I guess I can see it as seeming slow, more so because that part of the book was rather slow, and I thought the movie sped it up nicely.

Ditto, my wife fell asleep during it. The "last" one (I'm sure a $B franchise wont be revisited in the future, lol..) does look a lot more promising.

HP7.1 wasn't the best movie ever made, but it was better than a lot of other movies I've seen. Being the "worst installment of a series of generally good movies" is not really as bad a thing to be as it sounds. |

And yes I agree calling HP7.2 the "last" Harry Potter movie is likely going to sound pretty funny 10 or 20 years from now.

As I said to you in another thread, Lothic, you wouldn't be so down on 7.1 if you knew how much better it was than the source material. (That portion of the last book) You thought that was boring?????? You should have read it. That said, the book as a whole was great and a very appropriate ending to the franchise. It's just that half to two thirds of the book was "exploring and walking" to set up the epic ending. It's really looking like 7.2 is going to be wall to wall action.....big action. Can't wait.

Too many alts to list.
1. I freaked when i saw Mrs. Weasley going after Bellatrix in the trailer, that had to have been one of my top three favorite parts in the book.
2. It did look kindof strange that the whole Harry/Volde battle was extended. In the book it seemed like both duels were "Wham-Bam-Thank you-Ma'am" or sir in this case.
3.Want to see what they do with the whole Snape/Nagini scene.
4. I actually consider HP3 the worst movie so far, mixed up events to the point of irritation. While 6 gets the hate, though it cut out some things, the order of events was still there. HP3 butchered it all to hell. It did do some things beautifully though, the only annoyance is the sequence of events, the whole Firebolt treatment is my top gripe.
5. Is July 15th here yet
6. The trailer spoils one of the deaths kindof blatantly.
I have to post in lists or else you'd be reading (or scrolling past) an essay.

However i was really looking forward to HBP because i wanted to see on film the voldemort back story. And they basicly ignored almost all of it in favor of teenie bopper love plots and when the movie ended it just didnt feel like it was in the right place to begin the final chapters.

In the book a Death Eater kills Fred, doesn't say which one, I wonder if in the movie it will.
Also I wonder if they will actually use the line that Mrs. Weasley used when Bella started attacking Ginny, it has a naughty word in it.
Cancel the kitchen scraps for widows and lepers, no more merciful beheadings and call off christmas!

Oh lord, I hope so. I remember when I first read that scene. I got all hyper and excited and my wife made fun of me for at least the next 20 minutes because of the look on my face. I was so excited to see that scene in the trailer. I was worried they would leave it out for time constraint reasons.

Personally, I'm most looking forward to Snape's scene.
