Actually, I wrote five arcs recently, and only got bit twice:

1. "Freakshow" is apparently copyrighted. So, I called them Freaks or Freak Show and moved on.

2. "Victory" as an NPC name is copyrighted. That's a head scratcher. I renamed the character and moved on.

I do agree that the filter is extremely silly and needs attention, but odds are since laywers and NCSoft (the publisher) have their fingers in this pie, the silence from the Paragon devs is very telling that not much is going to be done.

Would I LIKE the thing to be deal with? Absolutely, yes. But I refuse to get demoralized or discouraged by this absurdity. I am going to write and no filter will stop me.

More power to you, I'm with you buddy!

But I'm afraid to start work on another arc for fear that i21's bugs are going to break it. :/

I've been kind of interested in working on another arc... but after having to fix Strife of the Grave in a very silly way (my 'Possessed Abomination' enemy had to be deleted, and recreated from scratch with a different name since just renaming the boss in the mission itself didn't fix it, neither did trying to edit the boss's name in the critter editor since it would never let me hit Save no matter what I named it or how I changed its description) I'm a bit... reluctant to see what new ridiculous hoops I'll have to jump through to fix things that shouldn't have broken in the first place.

Right, they want to make sure NCsoft doesn't sue themselves over stuff like "Crey," "Freakshow," or "Automatons."

Please stop making excuses. The continued state of the filter is not just "they're being careful," it's not just playing it safe. The devs SCREWED UP. While that is frustrating, it does happen. What is inexcusable is the utter apathy they have demonstrated toward this issue after the initial passes.

By the way, you guys who have custom critters that are invalidated by the filter: you must change the critter file save name also.

Regarding Catgirl: Catgirl's the name that the Carrie Kelly Robin takes in Dark Knight Returns 2, if I recall right. She has a brown outfit with big ears.

She also has a 35 point HeroClix unique figure from way back when.

That was killing me the other day.

I don't know if my AE arc #200411, Exploding Planet is flagged as unplayable or not, but yesterday I planned on doing some edits, and on going in, saw the tons of cryptic errors informing me that nearly all my enemy groups (with names I considered generic, like Alien Androids and Xenophobic Zealots) were invalid due to profanity/copyright filtering. I tried renaming Xenophobic Zealots (who happen to be zealous xenophobes) and all my names were failing until I changed the Save Path. That thing that no one normally sees. Really?!?

Thanks for having this thread on the forums, I had no idea what was going on.

We had to destroy the MA arc data files in order to save them.
