"Must Destroy Humans" Robots, do we have them?

So while playing the BAF Incarnate Trial, and doing my best to turn Siege and Nightstar into oversized paperweights. I began to wonder if we have any Evil AI robots in the game, and by evil robot I mean they are composed of metal, circuitry, various alloys and polymers, has the goal to eliminate all organic life on the planet and builld a robot nirvana in its place, and has no organic, i.e brain, heart, blood, lungs, and what have you, components at all.

So by that definition that would rule out the Clockwork King (Meta-Human Brain in a jar) and the Freakshow (Cyborgs). Siege and Nightstar are robots and dependent on the point of view can be seen as evil, but to me they seem more like lackey robots vs. robots that takes its own initiative, overthrow its master(s), and go "Must Destroy Humans!". So I'm just wondering if there is anyone in CoH lore that fits this character design.

In game lore... Not much, actually. We do have the Rogue Robots, but they're a fleeting concept that's over before it begins. Not a bad idea for a future villain group, however, and one I'd like to see.

I know I have one of these, though. I call him Genesis, and he is the brainchild of a person who's either a complete madman or a complete genius, depending on how you look at it. His belief is that humans have reached the pinnacle of evolution, and the only step forward is to stop relying on nature to improve us, and instead build a better race to replace us. A race of sentient machines. And because human instincts and subconscious fears will not allow them to simply fade away and make room for this new race, humanity must see reason and either remove itself from the planet, or be removed by force.

He's an... Interesting man to write for

Hmm, they gained independent thought when organic parts were added to them. I don't know but that sounds more like cyborg then robot. I would say that the Rogue Robots definitely carry the spirit of an evil robot though.

While I know what the definition of cyborg is, I tend to see one as a cyborg only when it includes parts of existing creatures, such that creatures have been "upgraded" into robotic organisms. Just a robot with organic parts is far too loose of an interpretation. I mean, plastic is an organic compound, after all.

I'd look for the spirit of a robot, rather than the definition, myself.

The closest thing we have to a Dr. Sun (yes, I went there) is the Clockwork King. I really wish we did though.

Amusing, I have my own robotic Genesis. Well, the Genesis Lieutenant of a character named Genesis. It's all part of an alternate-universe former-friends' character becoming that unverse's Nemesis (his name is Gene...get it??).

Of course, as of late I've been eager to find something for him to do, considering our relationship soured. Not to mention that while Mercs/FF + Leadership is deliciously Nemesis Army-like, it also tends to be incredibly boring to play. (Plus I'm still waiting for Mercs to get that mythical buff they need...)

The Theme Song for this group: "The Humans Are Dead" by Flight of the Conchords.

EDIT: Dagnabit, there is one NSFW word that they sneak in there, so watch it. It is unfortunate; the song is hilarious without it.

"How do you know you are on the side of good?" a Paragon citizen asked him. "How can we even know what is 'good'?"

"The Most High has spoken, even with His own blood," Melancton replied. "Surely we know."

Daleks aren't robots at all. They're shriveled mutants (from a race that was originally very human-like), piloting a combination life support system / wheelchair / mini-tank.

Ultron, Brainiac (especially the Superman: TAS version), and the Terminators (from the movie series of the same name) would be closer to what's being asked about here.

There are a couple of missions from Unai set in a dimension where Nemisis Robots took over the world after his death which I guess sort of counts.

There's no such thing as "so powerful it's boring" in my book

Personally, I'm waiting for pet customization, or alternately a "space soldiers from the future" Mastermind set, because right now Robotics is the only reasonably futuristic set we have access to.

I've always wanted Rogue Robots to become a faction of their own. Robot supremacists would be far more interesting to me than, say, the Council.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

Well...I would love a rogue Robot faction. I always thought the Malfunctioning Clockworks and other malfunctioning robo's should join forces.

That would be fun times.

Sounds like a good idea. What if we throw in Siege and Nightstar into the mix. Siege and Nightstar are modeled after Tyrant and Dominatrix. So who's to say that Siege and Nighstar figure that maybe Emperor Cole's utopia regime controlled by a bunch of soft, squishy, fleshbags isn't as perfect as it should be. They figure that it was organic creatures that caused the whole mess in Praetoria in the first place and feel that robots would be more efficient in creating a real utopia. Seige starts to gather the malfunctioning Clockworks and reprogram them to be his eyes and ears, now only loyal to him. Nightstar makes contacts with the surviving members of the Council's Rogue Robots and have them establish a base of operation on Primal Earth. Their plan is to turn Praetorian Earth into a true utopia free of the imperfect flaw that is organic life, and use Primal Earth as a resource/manufacturing center.

No, this is the theme song.

"Men strunt r strunt och snus r snus
om ock i gyllne dosor.
Och rosor i ett sprucket krus
r stndigt alltid rosor."

The Warworks look suitably terminator-ish. So, just need one of them to end up in Primal Paragon... gain sentience, decide both sides are wrong, and start building an army...

Problem is that assembly line production would quickly outpace humanity, if not shut down early and/or constantly.

...unless one is willing to put out literal tin men instead of iron work titans.

Well, it isn't a ROBOT per se, but if you delve deep into the piggs, you'll find info on a 'the internet' villain contact... a contemporary of the radio, television, and slot machine.

Essentially, the internet became self-aware and started learning at an exponential rate. Missions are given out in the form of forum posts, social network updates, and tweets as it starts sequentially taking over each of these services. At each point, it learns, studies humanity, and comes up with a plot to advance itself further. By the time it gets around to taking over the military equipment, the forums, social networks, and tweets have led it to conclude that humanity has no redeeming value-- it must either be exterminated or placated into harmless meat-blobs that sit at terminals all day for its entertainment. Your villain must choose whether to destroy the Internet before he, too, become a victim, or work with it... eventually making billions from the victims hooked on your latest MMO.

Edit: in case it isn't obvious... this really isn't in the piggs.

Nemesis himself could sort of count, since he's at best a brain in a jar and quite possibly is a robot by now. He can't destroy all humans though, because then there would be nobody for him to plot against.

I would love to have a purely robotic enemy faction. Sufficiently advanced AI exists in the CoH universe already. Make it so, devs!

You have just enraged the entire Whoverse fandom. I suggest developing either the superpowers of invisibility or invulnerability at a minimum.
