If GL is a success and there's a trilogy like Hollywood wants, the Corps may arise in the 3rd movie, at lest an abridged telling of Blackest Night. Personally I want to see Rage of the Red Lanterns... Atrocitus could REALLY kick *** on screen.
If there is a trilogy, I suspect the second will deal with the fall of Sinestro and the creation of the yellow power ring. The third... I could see either Star Sapphire or the Manhunters as antagonists, the latter choice possibly introducing Atrocitus and the massacre of Sector 666 as well.

I don't think Sinestro alone would be the main threat in the second of a trilogy. They might have have the Manhunters in the sequel or perhaps a living threat that Sinestro chooses to deal with in his own way.

If they could somehow do the Sinestro Corps War for the third one by the time DC rolls out a couple more movies for the film universe they're building that would be sweet.

Much better, but that mask/costume still looks dodgy sometimes. Still, it actually looks like a film I'd ignore that for now.

I think the costume suffers from having too much going on with it so it ends up looking fake-ish. The mask is worse, though, they should have given him something physical to actually wear, cuz whoever just painted it on through CG did a bad job.

Looks much better than what was seen before.
I too have a few qualms with his costume. At times it looks literally painted on. Like body paint. Especially his hands and neckline. At others it looks a bit too CGI’d.

My biggest worry is that with these four minutes they have shown us the best parts of the movie. Especially since what we had seen before was rather “meh” inducing. In fact, that’s always my biggest fear when I see a really compelling four-five minute trailer for a movie. They show all the good parts and you pretty much saw a synopsis of the movie. I hate that.

Sinestro... Atrocitus... man, alien parents are clueless. Those kids never had a chance to be heroes.

Does anyone know if there's e-comic book versions of Blackest Night, Brightest Day and Tales of the Corps? I can't seem to find any way of shopping for them on DC's site.

I think there in e-comic of Blackest Night. I remember Geoff Johns posting on his twitter once about a promotion to get the e-comic book versions 50% off

To be fair, they probably mean something different in their own languages.

If they were doing a trilogy and planning on a Blackest Night thing they'd introduce Atrocitus and Black hand in this first movie, even if it is just a cameo.

As far as who that big thing is supposed to be... I think it is their version of...

I've got the Comixology app, and they've got all of the Blackest Night books (the main series, dunno about the legions of tie-ins) , and are up to issue 13, I think, of Brightest Day. Only problem, is that you have to buy them individually at 2 bucks a pop...although I think Blackest Night #0 was free. But, once purchased, your account on the site on your PC and any devices you may have the app on will sync up, so you can read em where ever. Only downside (YMMV) is that they don't have anything from Marvel.

Nice! I'd say hurry up and get here, but I don't want them to rush anything and screw it up.

Wanted: Origin centric story arcs.
If you've only played an AT once (one set combo) and "hate" it - don't give up. Roll a different combo. It may just be those sets not clicking for you.

I'm not too worried about this and here is the reason. Yes the cgi is pretty obvious but it doesn't look absolutely horrible. Avatar on the other hand I can not stand to watch in 2d because the graphics looks so horribly unrealistic that I can't stay in the movie world. I'm continually kicked out of the story line by the bad effects. But when I saw Avatar in 3d I was amazed at how realistic almost everything looked.

I suspect this is because cgi intended to be seen in 3d just doesn't come across as well in 2d because shading isn't being used to simulate depth.

I intend to see GL in 3d and since the cgi already looks much better than anything in Avatar I expect it to be simply amazing in the theater. And at the worst as I said before it doesn't seem to be constantly glaring enough to keep me from watching it in 2d.

Don't count your weasels before they pop dink!

Yep, I agree it looks much better.

But I really, really hate that mask. It makes his eyes look like they've sunken into his head and his nose looks far too long and pointed.

Liking what I see from this. I may be in the minority, but I don't want them touching 'Blackest Night', or even the 'Sinestro War' in this first trilogy. Establish the mythology first. If the trilogy goes well, then expand it with the recent epic story lines.

Of course you don't. Remember what happened with the "X-Men" (in quotes because they're not really the X-Men) movies? They tried to shoehorn the Dark Phoenix saga (arguably one of the biggest impacts on the team in it's history) in as a friggin side-plot in *one* movie. It's easily a trilogy on it's own.

Does Comixology (or the Marvel or DC apps) have cheaper versions in virtual graphic novels? I'd buy a lot more online comics if they were 99 cents, or even better at 49 cents. Last time I did that, though, my hard drive crashed and they wouldn't give me back the ones I'd bought.

Maybe not a trilogy, but the set-up was good. The problem with the cobbled-together X-Men 3 (well, one of the problems) was that it was hamstrung by Singer enticing Marsden into playing a second banana in Superman Returns, so the resurrection story was hamstrung from the get-go. If the 3rd film had been about Phoenix's return and the 4th about the mutant cure, that would've been an epic series of films.

I haven't come across any TPB-type collections, or outright graphic novels on there. But you won't have the hd crash costing you your collection with them, since your account keeps track of what you've purchased, a-la Steam. Haven't tried the Marvel or DC versions yet.
