Hello, and welcome to Champion! I love the Mon-El avatar. Long live the Legion! Anyway, your best bet is to join the BMT of Champion and Champions United global channels for teamage and such. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

A couple of people have commented on the Mon-El Avatar.....i've used that one ever since a friend and I started up the Continuum Worlds. (A comic fan-fiction site) LOL if you go out and google my name, you'll find me 
I couldn't bear the thought of joining a comic based game without bringing it along.
As I stated...I am REAL new to the game, so some of the terms you all are using don't mean much now (I WILL Learn......I had to go out and find out what some one meant when they told me I had a "cool toon" LOL)
I have tried playing a scrapper and a tanker....the less said about those attempts...the better. (now if I can just stop trying to play my blaster like a tanker LOL)

I was much like you, and thought I would never play a game with a monthly fee. Then I tried the trial. Then I bought the game. Then I played for three years.

Welcome aboard! Don't know what else to say. Joining a global channel is a good idea, but I think they are full at the moment. Meantime, pick up groups shouldn't be too hard to get in Atlas Park and Praetoria.

i'm also partial to Controllers and Defenders.
City of Heroes was the first MMO i tried and it's still the only one i've subscribed to.
In the forums and in game it still has the best community of any MMO that i've seen.

We've got Dancing Pingus (@Iltat), one of the Blue Man Group who opted out of service (@Cobalt Azurean), a wonderful raid leader (@Amygdala), a harry Knight (@Fanged Knight), a cupcake lover who is mistell queen (@Cherry Cupcake), a dude with 4 uteri (@4shes), an Army guy (@SteelDominator) and his wife (@Imamankiller), a bottle of beer (@ Budweiser), and a bunch of stoners (Stoned Templars), a guy who wishes he had a pony (@Disciple of Horus) and a man who wishes he WAS a pony (@Force), a guy who's beaten all the speed records there ever were (@Kahlan) and his faithful sidekick (@Amily), and we even have our own server DJs (@Dazz Marvelous and @Sinny). We have a chicken (@Chicken O Matic) and a MAH (He's dubbed himself as Most Amazing EVERYTHING), a BUNCH of Canadians, (@Gender Poison and @Canuker to name a few) and we even have a server Event Calender that EVERYthing gets posted on.
We pretty much have everything anyone could possibly want with the exception of a bunch of cat girls... oh wait, we have that too... @Black Tabby is one. So in hindsight we have EVERYTHING!

Welcome to Champion I actually don't play on the server much anymore, but feel free to add me. I am relatively still new to the game and don't really speak game talk. They are an eager to help bunch, but sometimes they forget to speak in coh tutorial terms.
You can add me to your global friends if you like.(@Amily) Global or Gfriends are now accessible to you since you purchased the game. Its just a list of friends you can access above your chat box. If you need more assistance please feel free to PM me here on the forums or any of the people listed in AngieB's post. All are very happy to help.
The best advice I can give you from my experience so far is to not join a sg to quickly and dont be fooled into thinking you NEED to join. You will most likely have one or two people already in your forum mail saying "Hey no pressure come hang out with us" Just join the global channels and take your time. You will eventually find yourself teaming with a regular group of people naturally.

On on blasters having to run away more and more, just means you need to kill faster. Also getting some deff / res helps on having to run away to much. Blasters as also the only arch type (AT) that I tend to take the 1st 2 powers of the primary, since you can still attach with those two while held.

First off, I should say that I was one of those that was totally against paying monthly fees to play a game. When COH first came out...I wanted to play...but refused to pay the monthly fee.
Well, a two weeks ago, I decided to give the 7-day trail a go...and have been hooked ever since. I bought the game LOL.
It seems I am partial to blasters. I ran one called Pagan Blast while I learned about the game and now run Nebularian.
I've checked out a couple of other servers...but Champion was the first one I tried and it seems the one I like most. I'm glad to be here!. (I may even start writing stories about it on my fan-fiction web site LOL).
