Feel too guilty to spend this 200,000,000...
Or you were the "victim" of someone's generosity. It's happened before, mostly in cases where the item purchased is generally cheap and innocuous. Unless it seems more like a case of someone adding to many zeroes (e.g. the item normally sells for 2,000,000), I wouldn't lose sleep over it.
There's also the improbability that the purchaser uses the forums and will happen upon this thread.
Where to find me after the end:
The Secret World - Arcadia - Shinzo
Rift - Faeblight - Bloodspeaker
LotRO - Gladden - Aranelion
STO - Holodeck - @Captain_Thiraas
Obviously, I don't care about NCSoft's forum rules, now.
I think the standard is "give it five days". If not, I just made up a standard.
Then you can spend the inf with a clean conscience.
Besides, if you buy and sell enough, you'll be on the other side of that transaction someday. (I'm looking at my own, recently acquired, very very special, set of three 21-million-inf Deific Weapons. They're WORTH more than yours. They're BETTER.) It all works out eventually.

So you think you're a hero, huh.
@Boltcutter in game.
As the great Gordon Gekko once said, greed is good.
Dont even stress about it.
The market is a fickle mistress. On one character she'll hand you a 400% profit on something you bought yesterday and another you'll lose 75million over something you bought last week...its random
Look at it this way...if the guy had 200 million to accidently over bid with then theres likely more where that came from...he's probably not hurting.
Theres a saying in my SG ...."there are two types of people in this game, those that have misbid on the market, and those that havent used the market yet"....just because my SG membership is one person doesnt make the comment any less accurate.

You don't have to feel guilty. Maybe the buyer just found something that paid very well, and she wanted to celebrate it by overbidding. Maybe she made an experiment to see the effect on market volatility. Maybe she just typed a few zeros too much. Maybe she wanted to anonymously help a random player...
Consider it luck or an anonymous gift.

Feeling guilty over play money is kind of silly. Also, it is not wise to deny a gift from the market gods. I hear tell of one poor soul who did so and now only receives Trap of the Hunters and Nightmares as drops. The market gods are often generous, but also often CRUEL!

Hello there, I need to return something...
I sold something for 200,000,000 while I was logged off. It must obviously have been an overbid! I hate to disappoint you all, but I'm not going to declare what it was yet. I'm hoping the customer will turn up here and be able to identify their purchase, so that I can give some of the money back. *taps foot as money burns in pocket* |
Teams are the number one killer of soloists.
The first day the markets went live I sold an unquenchable Flame for 80mil which back then was a big deal . A lot of people tried to use the market to transfer money cross server.
How about a Luck Charm? Come on, I'm trying to claim what's rightfully mine!

Hello again, people. Sorry for the delay- I had a bit of computer trouble.

I think I'll give 150 mil back if they own up. Rest, after Wenthworth's fees, is mine! Mine, I tell you! MINE!

Someone made you burn 20mm in fees! That must have been their plan all along.
