Possible Repercussions of the Server Merge
@Damz Find me on the global channel Union Chat. One of the best "chat channels" ingame!
* New US Independence Day Annual Event - EU Servers are granted access to the US Servers and Ouroboros so they can correct that little "Tea Party that got out of hand" mistake. US Servers must defend against this attempt to alter time by journeying back to colonial days and clicking as many tea box glowies as they can.
|
Most successful tea party EVAR!
* Creation of a Key Bind that says "I'm from America... I only speak English" in every European language. An alternate keybind will be created for those in the southwestern United States which says "I'm from America... I only speak Spanish." |
* Canadians will be given access to special protest emote where the sign will read "It's the freaking NORTH AMERICAN server!! Not the US server go**ammit!" |
* The United States will be introduced to the most dangerous and vicious PvP zone in the history of the game... British Parliament. |
* In an effort to establish global harmony, the devs will create a City of Heroes version of the Olympics. Super Speedsters compete in running events, Super Jumpers in Long and HIgh Jump competitions... Each Archetype will have its own events. Medals will be handed out to the winners. All hard caps will be removed for the event... so you can finally see what your character could REALLY do... right before you leave the zone and get capped yet again. |
* After all these years, we here in the North American servers will finally learn that the 5th Column in the EU servers are charicatured stereotypes of "American Capitalist Dogs" who are all over weight, lazy and have a negative perception score whenever a television is on in their general vicinity. |
this server merge excites me, i can't wait to play with the Brits. Then, maybe, just maybe, i'll get one of them to tell me what the hell the phrase "Bob's your uncle" freaken means.......
|
Essentially it glosses over a rather mundane, pointless, nearly automatic, or nonexistant step in a plan.
Unless your uncle's name really IS Bob.
THEN you're in trouble...
I wonder how many altoholics will be taking crash courses in French and German so that they can make full use of all the new slots on those two servers.

Remember the American Method of learning other languages.
Additional volume = Increased understanding.
Waving hands wildly = Increased understanding.
Waving a loaded gun = INSTANT understanding.
Nah, Cricket is easy to explain. It goes like this;
You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out. When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game. Simples |
Ah, so it's like baseball and golf mixed together. totally makes sense.
Dear GAWD!! Oh well.... he was never my favorite of Santa's reindeer anyway. |
Too many alts to list.
Totally makes sense.

I wouldn't say it's any more complex than most other professional sports. No argument about the tedious part, though

Four servers for the Europeans across the pond
Eleven for the Americans in their continent wide.
Three for testing, tightly controlled
One for the developers blessed and wise.
In Mountain View, California where the servers lie.
One list to rule them all, one list to find them
One list to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In Mountain View, California where the servers lie.
EDIT: Yes, I know the servers aren't physically located in Mountain View but the devs are and they need to be collocated for it to work.

I warmly welcome the server list merge, hoping that all our servers will be enriched with more British humor, German engineering, and French food.
Part of me, however, does fear that we might instead get stuck with British food, German humor, and French engineering. |

A long time back I reqularly played on a MUD where a goblin racial profession I was in had a unique emote that said to the triggering player something like "You bellow out your warcry." I went several years thinking this is essentially what other players saw as well, until one day one of my friends asked me why I frequently yelled "FOOD! FOOD!" in the middle of battle.
Anyway, does this mean I'll actually have a server called Zukunft on my list? If so, that is just awesome. I'd be almost tempted to transfer my character Leichendiener over there... Though it might be taken now that I think of it. |

Another thing it could mean would be Leichengräber or Totengräber. Not sure what they wanted it to be though.

Yeah but what it is supposed to mean? Leichendiener is not an actual german word that does exist.

And to answer Fleeting Whisper, it is absolutely a Necro MM (along with Force Field as a secondary, since he is basically an undead telekinetic re-animated by his own mutant power). And its dressed as an undertaker with a stylish top-hat and big old-west looking mustache. Somehow the guy has even won a few costume contests, which I just seriously don't understand (not that I'm complaining about the Inf or anything)... I even started (but didn't complete) a page for him on VirtueVerse back when I was playing that character more often: Keep meaning to get back to him someday but have been to busy with my mains. Maybe this weekend, now that I'm ranting about him I can actually feel some enthusiasm growing.
