I'm not sure where the problem is but I can't seem to get these commands to work, no matter where I put them.
I tried in the game shortcut before the /LaunchGame=CityOfHeroes section and while it didn't complain, it also didn't work.
I tried it in the Launcher in the Extra Settings box and it also didn't work.
I know I've seen Leandro or someone else post those settings, but I can't find the posts. Of course, it had to be a prolific poster that did it so it makes it harder to find.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

I think you have to do something like:
/LaunchGame=CityOfHeroes /GameArgs="-screen 1366 768"

I always thought this was easy to install and run, I am surprise people are having so much problems with this.

Has anyone figured out how to do a "fast install" with the new launcher (by manually copying an existing installation to avoid having to re-download everything)? So far I have failed in my attempts to do so, and had to let it redownload. Some of us have monthly data transfer limits you know!
HATE the new launcher. HATE HATE HATE it.
I hate the dull, ugly colors. So far, it's been a royal pain. I have multiple user accounts on my computer, but only one with admin permissions. Stupid launcher will tell me that it can't update from a non admin account, go and do it anyway, and then proceed to fix my files EVERY TIME I WANT TO PLAY.
I haven't tweaked according to your directions yet, and I will, but just had to vent. WHY couldn't they leave well enough alone, WHY force us into this??!! They don't KNOW how to make a user friendly ANYTHING, much less something that is supposed to run in the background ALL THE TIME.

I use steam and the updator isn't working iv looked at the NCSoft launcher and i don't know what to do. I don't want to use the NCSoft launcher because the website said not to but if the game isn't going to work ill have to swich. Can anyone give me some advice why it isn't working?

What website said not to use it? The only way you can get into the game now is to use the NC Launcher. It is supposed to work with Steam, but I am afraid I don't use Steam so I don't know anything about setting that up.

OK iv installed it and it says the it wont launch City of Heros even though its installed. It says below it to install beta, or city of heros test what does that mean and what should i do from here?

Run the installer again as per section 4, it should then patch CoH to work with the NCLauncher you just installed.
CoHTest and CoHBeta options are for access to the Test and Beta servers respectively (by installing additional game clients), these are not required to play CoH on the Live servers.

As to fixing user permissions.
Log in on an admin account on the machine.
Right-click on the launcher and select Properties.
Go to the compatibility tab.
Avoid the urge to click "Run as Admin" here.
Click the "Change Settings for All Users" button.
Make it look like this:
Click OK, click OK again and you should be good.
As to why it had to change. The old launcher was running into issues with Windows 7 as well.
Instead of simply dinking with the spaghetti code in the old launcher and possibly breaking everything, they went to a launcher that has the capability to move forward.

Im running the mac nc soft launcher atm and tryed to run multiple instances of coh and noticed that the mac launcher doesnt have an advanced Function. Any mac users found a way to get around this?
You may want to post that question in the Mac Users forum section as well.
