The Batman
Actually, Ragdoll and Cluemaster were in fact both characters from the comics. Cluemaster was the father of Stephanie Brown, the vigilante known as Spoiler and the current Batgirl, but the character himself really was little more than a less charismatic Riddler knock-off, so I was glad they didn't use him much in the show. Ragdoll goes back as far as the Golden Age, with a legacy that played a major role in James Robinson's excellent Starman series and the seriously twisted latest incarnation appearing in Gail Simone's Secret Six ongoing.
Anyway, I only caught the show in bits and pieces, but I liked most of what I saw for what it was. It certainly tried to be flashier and more action-oriented than BtAS, at least for a good chunk of it I thought. But I'm glad they steered away from making everything as different as possible from what had come before the way they seemed to be heading at the start of the series, and even threw in a few fun nods to the Timmverse at times. Though I am a little disappointed that they seemed to just drop the story of Yin, Rojas and the previous cop characters after Gordon made his debut, since Yin in particular had really become a pretty interesting character in her own right.
And... I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually thought the "vs. Dracula" movie was kinda cool, too.

I'll miss you all.
I thought it was an okay series, with the Dracula special being one of the better bits of it. But I'd say it's nowhere near as good as The Brave and The Bold, Batman Beyond, or The Animated Series.

The only TBATB episode I could stand long enough to watch the whole way through was the one where he confronts Joe Chill. That one was actually pretty good.

Don't forget to add Mr Freeze to the list of horrible villain re-dos. Especially after BTAS turned him into an actual character.
I did like their spin on Clayface though.
One of the greatest GL appearance ever. Ring Tossed.

The only good thing about Mr Freeze in The Batman was that he was voiced by Clancy Brown, IIRC. Beyond that, yea, nearly all of the Villain takes in that show weren't the best. Well except for maybe Catwoman and Clayface's origin...
Thank you for the time...
My favorite Mr. Freeze comes from Batman Beyond. That's the only time I've 'felt' for the man.
As for The Batman, I liked it but I had no clue it went on for so long. I think I only made it through the 1st season before my Tivo burned out and it was about 8 months before I got a new one...
Must've forgot to add that back into the season pass...
Now you've done it, I've gotta go and adjust my netflix Q.

The Batman surprised me with how good it was. It inspired me to start using cyan in my costumes.
And I liked the new takes on the old villains.

I don't recall their Catwoman origin, you wouldn't happen to know what ep that was?

I also should of been a little clearer in my previous comment. I like the take on Catwoman done in The Batman. I also like the origin take done of Clayface as well. The few eps featuring Clayface after the origin though...
Thank you for the time...
Every villain knows kung-fu, even the Penguin.
My son and I really like watching Batman: the Brave and the Bold, but when that one isn't on we watch Batman cartoons online. Batman: TAS is too dark in many ways, so The Batman is a good compromise.
@Joshua.
I just saw the Dracula movie last night. Not bad, I'm guessing it takes place between Seasons 1 and 3 somewhere. I noticed a couple of parallels to Mask of the Phantasm (not sure if that was intentional or what), but it was pretty good.

I'm a huge fan of Batman: The Brave and the Bold. I hope it's not nearing the end of the series.
I wish that I'd have watched The Batman when it was actually on, but I think my son was too young, or not around yet. He's 4.
@Joshua.
My post in the Firefly thread reminded me of this. Thanks to the awesome service that is Netflix, I finally got around to watching The Batman in its entirety. Overall, I thought it was a pretty decent show. I liked the first two seasons a lot more than the last three; although I did like this take on Dick as Robin. For a while I thought Yin was going to become a bit of a love interest for Bruce, possibly even become Batwoman.
I wasn't real impressed with a lot of the villain make-overs though. The Riddler and Scarface being the top two that come to mind, and the Penguin got rather annoying. Then there's the fact that there's no Two-Face, Scarecrow, Mad Hatter, or Ra's al Ghul, but a bunch of "made-up" guys like Ragdoll (my guess is he's supposed to be a more "PC" Scarecrow) and the Cluemaster.
I thought I'd share my thoughts on this series; it's certainly not as epic as TAS was but definitely not as bad as TBATB is. I'm also curious as to other people's opinions on this series.
