Is it just me, or is Sister Psyche ...
I find all the Phalanx TFs (bar Posi, obviously) to be dull as watching paint dry. Only with more clicking.
They really, really need a revamp.

GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Hrm I don't think I have anything on Pinnacle anymore. I used to run over there with some friends but we all moved to Virtue to join some other friends.

I don't care about the set bonuses. I slot 50s because it means I can get into the ED red with fewer slots expended. Also because 50s are easy to get.
I don't get it. Why would I lose my set bonuses?
Wait, you mean someone actually USES all those level 50 recipes and IOs that I throw at the market? Pft, level 25's FTW! You still get more enhancement value than SOs provide, you rarely suffer the effects of enhancement scaling when exemplared, and the set bonuses stay with you unless you're running REALLY low-level content... and then you don't need the set bonuses anyways! |

The good mid-level recipes seem to exist as often and in the same quantity as the Contaminated in RV. Spending A-merits (if possible) or R-merits on some non-LotG-grade piece feels excessive but seems to be the only way to fix the non-existence problem without the help of the RNG god.

"Sort of purple" sets at 50 would be nice, bonuses that exist from 1-50 but otherwise normal non-purple values. And more diversity than just accuracy and recharge.

Indeed, the fact there is no buildup to this fight (but there IS buildup to fighting Countess Crey, which only occurs in a story arc seperate from the taskforce) AND the fact he is a complete pushover.
This, this, a hundred times this.
I have a passionate hatred for Manticore's TF. You fight nothing but Paragon Protectors all over the place in a ploy to stop Crey and the bad things they do. Then, to end it all, you fight some no name bodyguard with fluorescent skin that's never been featured, or even mentioned, in any other form of content before this in some anti-climactic dingy warehouse, where he has the balls/stupidity enough to challenge you. Not only that, he's a complete push over in the fight itself, and our heroes are supposed to feel accomplished that they managed to beat a rent-a-guard in a suit that works for Countess Crey. It's not even like fighting Captain Mako or Black Scorpion, people who have been featured quite a bit and have serious pull in their group. You fight some ******* guy in a suit. If you fought Hopkins before Countess Crey herself, that'd be completely different. But no. Just the damned bodyguard. Hate that TF. |
It's just seems that the fact they had already used the Arrest Countess Crey in a story arc and were really flumoxed what to do when it came to the taskforce featuring Crey. Now if throughout the story Hopkins was sending you notes or the NPCs talked about Hopkins in a manner '800 pound shaved Gorilla in a suit told us to do this, do you want to fail that guy, he could rip your head clean off' then there is some build up.
Instead Hopkins is both an Anti-climatic boss and a Giant Space Flea from nowhere, in that he just appears with no buildup, no explanation, he just is.

You mean like a PvP set? They work just like purples.

But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

I don't think it's "awfully dull", not like the original Positron was. Fighting Freakshow, like 5th Column, never gets old for me. I have always liked Sister Psyche's TF.
I've never really understood the traveling "problem" either. Travel is so fast and easy in this game it isn't even funny and people still complain about it. So it takes a couple of extra minutes to get to the door - big deal.
I'm not saying it couldn't use a streamline but not a lot. The patrol and the Fiore talk-to are both rather pointless and could be cut. Cut those two and make the final room with Clamor something unique maybe with a cool tactical challenge, then I think it would be just about perfect. But really, there's nothing so wrong with this TF that the devs need to take time to "fix" something that isn't broken.
All just my opinion of course.
