Playing CoX at work
Yeah, I've snuck on at the office over the years...but only for the thrill of "checking in". I could never expect to have any quality playtime at work.
I work at home for a call center during the overnight hours. I play between calls all the time however not on teams as I have no idea when or how long I will be AFK.
I work for myself, so I'll sneak on once in awhile. I have to be careful though, my boss is a real jerk and I don't want to get fired!
The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.
I have teamed with many people claiming to be at work while playing. I always seethe with jealousy.
@Joshua.
I play on breaks and lunch. Om nom Brute smash.

When I catch you, you are all fired.
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
I have CoX loaded on my computer at work, but I only use it to occasionally do a quick name check, or do a little marketing over lunch. I loaded it when I was travelling more so I'd have something to do in my hotel room at night.
Even though I get a one hour lunch break that I can do anything I want with, my company feels that if you're sitting at your desk during your lunch hour and you're not working, you're not being productive. Oddly enough they don't have any problem with making me sit through a two hour meeting every Monday that has nothing to do with me.
Gotta love corporate America.

Work at home here, so if things aren't busy at work (or I'm sitting through a long "Just let it run, check when finished" process) I may hop on. Won't team, though.
What I thought playing this game was work .
I am a domestic engineer so yes I play all the time at work.
Cancel the kitchen scraps for widows and lepers, no more merciful beheadings and call off christmas!
I've actually tried to play cities at work, but the computers here are so bare bones and dated that it won't run at all.
I play CoX at work all the time!
^ You sir are dedicated.
If I could think of a way to convince IT that my work pc really really needs a gaming capable graphics card... hmm, not going to happen sadly.
On the other hand I did have a productive day yesterday compiling a list of about 80 new character concepts. WTB means to check name availability without logging in.

I probably do between 25% and 33% of my playing while at work. I work the help desk, so I often have downtime between calls. When I'm not using the downtime on forums, I'm usually playing games I can step away from on short notice. This is why I a) solo and b) play Tankers, Masterminds, and other "indestructible" characters.

I typically take an extended lunch and go home for lunch for special events, as I'm a couple of miles away from my office.

I want to know where Marcian is, so that he can make reference to the sophomoric angle of this that I would never post...
I don't know if I am impressed or disappointed that there have been so many replies in here without any deliberate innuendos...
To the OP...
I am a U.S. Congressman, so... Yes. All the time!

At my job now I don't play CoH at work I do surfing/forum stuff though.
At my first "real" job (after college) I used to play CoH often enough....especially during the last 1-2 years that I was there.
I remember one week where the boss went to the Exec.'s office in Milwaukee for a whole week....played CoH about 90% of the time that whole week at work
In fact, that week, my friend (also co-worker) played with me sometimes....and then when the boss called in to ask what we were doing/how things were going, "yep...busy...those workstations are still updating..." >_>
Edit: And like others, when I did play at work I usually just solo'ed. If I did get into a team I made sure that they knew I was at work and could go afk for extended periods of time.

I play a lot of CoH and or other games at work. The flight nurses get to hang out in the ER and do nurse stuff I get to sit in the crew quarters and play games, watch movies or even gasp sleep. Needless to say the only thing better in life then to get paid to fly, is to get paid to fly AND play games!
To error is human, to forgive devine..niether of which is Air Force policy
I check the forums at work, but that's as far as I'll go...
Proxy servers at work won't allow CoH to connect.
Or so I've heard.

They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.
pffft - yeah right. like CoX would run on a Government computer. I'm lucky if the machine boots up in under an hour.
205723: A Different DESTINY
When Soldiers of Arachnos got their names added to the Destiny List, Longbow managed to get a copy of the list and began rounding villains up. But one name on the list shocked them...
I was wondering how many of us have the occasional sneaky little game of CoX while we're at work. I would never dream of such a thing of course.
