Favorite support set to team with?

Apparently, to a certain longtime FFer that has randomly decided to return, FF bubbles are worthless to a team and if you need them, you should l2play and reroll your toon.

That happens, too, but in my experience the detoggling is a more persistent problem. Especially in the higher levels.

I agree with this, I've got two Stormies (DP/Storm an Earth/Storm) and I find that I vastly prefer Storm paired with a Control set than with a Blast set.

Empathy. Works 95% of the time the only time it does not the other sets would not be that much better anyways.

Least favorite trick arrow. Does not do enough debuffage to warrant having to use so many arrows. Stuff is usually dead before I can finish casting all that junk.

Bump and Grind Bane/SoA
Kenja No Ishi Earth/Empathy Controller

Entoxicated Ninja/PSN Mastermind

Can't completely agree there. While Empathy is a great buff set, yes, it's not entire true that when it doesn't "work" other sets would not be that much better anyways. Sometimes you really need debuffs.

I personally think Cold is extremely overhyped. Not because its a bad set, but because the hype is so hype-y. I'll probably be drummed off the boards for that opinion, but there it is. My main is even a Mind/Cold, so I have plenty of experience with the set. It is very good, but not quite the hax many people seem to believe. It is very good at dealing with the 10% of the game that is fighting AVs after level 40 or so, thats for sure, but when you actually play the set in normal content the -special is just ok and a Dominator could have brought an identical version of Sleet coupled with a character with fantastic AoE potential. Cold is still a very good set, but actually playing it day to day I find it not nearly as good as its reputation. Although partly this is due to the fact that inherent Stamina and the invention of Cardiacs mean that my Cold character is no longer special in being able to skip the Fitness pool and still run whatever toggles he wanted.

P.S. Cold may be the dead worst support set to exemp below 30 with.

While I think Ice is a good set I have to agree with your reasons for it not being great at lower levels. Before sleet your basically getting ally shields, a meh slow toggle, a non autohit single target defense debuff/slow slow. Outside IO's or exemping below your recharge sets benumb and heatloss have longish recharges. They are not perma outside high recharge bonuses. Also everything has a hit check and Benumb could just miss

Traps is as hax as it's proponents say it is. Stacking PGT is almost pointless since one is already that good. Acid Mortar debuffs on the other hand stacks with each acid mortar you have out. It is stack-able before IO's. That's makes it over 50-ish resistance debuff with stacked acid mortor. It's also an AOE which takes an Achilles proc. With seeker drones, it also has that -dam/-resistance stacking bug that Dark Miasma and Trick arrow can do. And once you have the ability to start stacking Triage Beacon you become as tough as a regen scrapper sans IH with high defense.

You get all that and the FF Gen by level 18 on a defender. It is so nice.

I cheat. No Power Boost, just zone stacking. I think I've done higher but I can't remember what it was...usually I can't get everyone to that level since they tend to run in the door without regard to getting the 3rd stack or higher. I can usually get one teammate to 5-7 stacked bubbles though.

Who do I prefer to play? My FF/Rad defender is great fun on large teams and Mothership raids. For duoing and small teams, I like my Sonic/Sonic or Trick Arrow/Archery defenders.

Who gets more/faster team invites? My Rad/Rad and Dark/Archery defenders, hands down. I had to /Hide my Rad once upon a time to stop getting blind invites to AE farms every time I passed through Atlas.

As a potential team-mate? As long as the player is reasonable, I pretty much like them all. I'm not a power-player, and most of my toons aren't uber-l33t, soft-capped monsters... so every little bit helps.

Ah, right. Mine was just off bubbling an SR Scrapper, then having him hit Elude for good measure. The door thing, I usually do by accident when rebubbling people at the start of the mission. I do like how common Maneuvers and other team defense buffs are becoming. On some teams, I get to be softcapped, too!

depends what you're doing... but the two "best" are probably rad and cold with kin a very close 2nd

rad and cold have the huge -regen debuff which is so key for AVs. one can heal the other buff, depending on the team one or the other probably would be more helpful. both have a lot of varied debuff
