I'm also disappointed that there aren't any lobster parts. Or walrus.

Am I seeing this right? We can now use tails AND belts on the same character???

The trouble is, we don't really have anything which looks tribal or barbaric. We have a lot of Tech shoulders and a lot of eeevil spikes, but we don't have animal skin shoulders or weird tribal necklaces or one of those Aztec Obsidian barbed clubs or proper dried-up skulls shoulers, or a ragged chest detail of some sort, or a decent tribal belt... We lack a lot of items to work with. When I do get about to making this one on live, I'll be perusing the Costume Redesign thread, as I'm not happy with the state of that costume quite yet.

*edit*
That said, I did find my reference pics. To avoid bloating the thread, here's a series of links:
Link 1 - A decent stone hammer, feather decoration reminiscent of native Indians and a decent necklace.
Link 2 - Slightly less complex, but still a decent necklace and interesting shoulders, plus the ability to use pants with hooves.
Link 3 - Not much to say about this one.
Link 4 - Not a "cow" girl, but this one has practically everything I had in mind when I said "tribal/barbarian."

I wish e could make the bull head a little bit bulkier with a little less neck. And I wish we could give it hair, or at least a mane that could pass for hair

There is that one belt that's skulls and bones, looks kind of headhunter-y.

We definitely need loincloths -- a nice plain one, one that can have patterns applied to it and a ragged one.

I'm disappointed that there isn't a "furry body" option in this pack, or at least an Animal Fur that can properly go under suits and jackets. Or a "Feather Body" for that matter. A furry/hairy body that gives a shaggy outline would be awesome for wild animal looks or even cavemen type characters.

I thought I would post the reference I used to my Griffon costume up there.

I think in comparison it came out quite well.

I have to give the devs kudos for letting me realize my vison.

In the spirit of "We have no right to bear arms," I just realised that while we got a whole bunch of new feet, we didn't get any new hands. Not even cat's paws.

The human hand is a marvel. If paws were better for maniuplation...

We would have paws.

I was hoping earlier for a claws attack power that gave us animal claws rather than the Wolverine/Ninja ones we have now. I'm still hoping that will be added for free at some point, sooner rather than later.

But paws for hands (or paw-like hands) would've been cool. Three-fingered hands that resemble bird's feet and/or dinosaur claws would be cool, too. I was really hoping for some paws/claws/hooves for feet, though, so we could have normal legs but animal feet.

Nope I am wrong, must have been the lighting but no claws appear..

Nevermind.

For the most part, I can see a few pieces I want to swap in on my existing characters, and that's about it.

The animal pack is SO much more than this! I literally CANNOT use any of the new pieces on any of my existing characters because the concepts these pieces permit are so new and unprecedented that I honestly just don't have any even attempted. Because I COULDN'T attempt any of them before, for lack of options. In fact, my Cow Girl is a design I started and abandoned because we lacked the pieces and her costume sucked.

More packs like this one, please! More packs that open up more options, instead of adding redundant pieces to old options!
I'm the opposite. In previous packs, each one held a bunch of pieces that could be used well outside their theme and opened a wide variety of costuming options. This pack is a far departure from that and pretty much the opposite -- unless you want to make a furry/anthropomorphic character, this pack is useless. Even the mutant pack opened more varieties than this one does. The most "creative" thing outside of making furries I've seen has been the cigar smoke trick which, while pretty cool, doesn't say much for the pack as a whole.

It's disappointing to me because I used to enjoy seeing how all the new parts could be repurposed into other costumes but I suppose I'll just have to wait for the next (Steampunk?) booster and hope they do better.

I guess we'll just have to disagree on that one, because I personally have never felt it necessary to use items outside of their intent, and have in fact gone out of my way to not do so. Gas Masks posing as beaks and muzzles is a big one for me - do not want.

To me, previous packs didn't really have any real "purpose" to them, they just had a few undefined sets almost exactly like all the other undefined sets we had in similar themes, but with different details. To my eyes, Organic Armour is redundant with Chitin, all the Science Pack breathers and goggles are redundant with the goggles and masks we had before. Martial Arts were more robes a lot like the more robes we had before, and Cyborg was one more tech set a lot like all the other tech sets we had before.

That's not to say those packs weren't good. Far from it - I bought and love all of them. But I never bought a costume pack before and think "Wow! I can make a character now that I couldn't make before!" At most, I thought "Well, I can replace this piece on that character with that piece from this pack." This is the first time I've found a costume pack which enabled new characters completely and entirely, as well as one which actually explored new ground, as opposed to retreading old concepts.

At least that's how I see it.

Looks like this thread has been Samuel Tow'd away.

Lets see more pictures of animals.

I'm not talking about the beaks & muzzles bit so much as creative uses for the Martial Arts pack robes and padded armor bits, cyborg parts, even the mutant bits lend themselves to more creative applications than "Tiger head".

It's too bad they couldn't have done so while expanding the number of options from anyone who didn't want "Tiger Head Man". Some "bestial" clothing options, weapons, etc. Prior to the pack coming out, people talked about how it'd be cool if you could use different facial parts and stuff like that. Instead we just got some disappointingly limited premolded animal heads and a couple skin patterns.

I suppose the bright side is that they didn't include a single piece "hook" to entice me to spend money on the pack

I understand what you mean. It is pretty limiting in its usefulness. I had pretty much the same feeling about the Mutant Pack. The only thing I could remotely see myself using was the glowing eyes of the new face, but that wasn't enough to persuade me into buying it as the other glowing eye options are good enough for me. Sadly, they also added the wolf tail in that pack at the last minute, keeping it out of this pack, which is its proper place. (I dislike the ragged wolf tail immensely -- I think it looks like a bag worm, which creeps me out.)

I was hoping we'd at least be able to modify the heads so as to morph them into other animals like foxes and raccoons are such. Clawed hands would've been useful beyond anthropomorphic characters, too, as they would be suitable for demons and vampires and such. As I posted earlier, a furry body would've been applicable to creating cavemen, apes and Sean Connery clones. Still, the wolf head alone is enough to get me to buy it, as it will complete my dog character. It's not perfect, but better than the current monstrous werewolf head.

Have you seen the Beastial Fury aura?

Its totally power armor/Iron man-esque.

Other than the breath, I can't tell you what it has to do with animals.

And just to prove I'm not here to disrupt, here's a remake of that "tech werewolf" people were suggesting in the Costume Request thread, now with an actual wolf head:

While I'm super happy with this pack the fact that these new parts don't seem to open up new costume options has me slightly disappointed. Pieces like the shoulder fur and the Valkeriye belt opened up so many costume options across so many genres that the first thing I do when a new booster is released is look for that new piece that will inspire me to create costumes I've never created before.

Seriously... the chest option beats like a heartbeat. (*visually! There's no sound. I didn't want to create confusion there)
That is going to get a lot of use for non-beast/animal characters.

So, yeah... So far, Jophiel, the only thing in this pack for you is the Beastial Aura.

But hey, not every pack is for every person and all.

Both you and Samuel see the pack the same way... You just disagree on whether its difference is a good thing or a bad thing!

There's also this following black wolf:

At first it may seem like nothing special, just a black wolf, but it makes sense within context, because it would be the the third transformation of Artegor, my vampire-inspired character. That's one easy use right there, and that alone would sell the pack for me, were it not for my as of yet unnamed literal cow girl.

*edit*
I really like how the mouth and eyes stand out against the black fur. I just wish we could use eye auras with those new heads.

This is why I really, really hope they either;

1) Give us bigger feet options like that on the normal models
OR
2) Make the wolf head bigger on the huge model. Because right now it looks derpy.
