Since the expansion of the servers to allow more then the base 8 slot trying to remember what every characters powers (super strength/willpower) are has become difficult. Especially when you have a full 36 toons on a server. Could you add a line to the server listings to show what a character is under there name in the display section.

It already shows their AT (and origin) as an icon.

Do you mean powersets, or do you really want the AT spelled out?

It's just conjecture but I think he meant powersets. I would totally /sign that. It's kind of annoying when you are building a team and you get 2 defenders and 1 corrupter only to find out that none of them have debuffs. Another thing it would help with is when you are looking for a specific powerset (i.e. a stoney looking for a kin).

Edit: Of course it would have to be disabled in PvP zones.

Uhm Not trying to be rude but did you read the OP's request? He wants additional information added to the character selection screen before you log into the game.

That screen has nothing at all to do with PvP zones.

Useing the picture the characters powers would be show under the image either above or below the location info (preferable above)

Dual Postals? How do I get that set?!

I was going to have some typo fun, but initially decided against it. Is it too late for a "going postal" joke?*

Now that I get the details, I think this is a fine idea.

Frankly, unless you have multiple full servers, I don't see the need. How can you not remember what they are, by the names alone?

Did you give generic names to all your characters?

Do you not play them?

I know each of my characters powersets by the name alone--and that's not to say that I name them specifically according to their powersets, but that each one is memorable. Different costumes help as well.

If knowing the name and AT doesn't give you enough info...perhaps you should delete the character? I don't imagine you play it all that much.

I actually don't see anything wrong with the suggestion. So I'll /sign it.

According to CIT, I have about 250 characters. Some share a name. Some are just remakes of an older character that, because they match a theme elsewhere or whatnot, are on multiple servers. Some share a name and nothing else. And I almost never name them related to their powersets (on rare occasion, yes.)

There are times I'll look and go "which sets did this one have." Or I'll scan through to find a specific set a team could use.

Personally, I like the idea.

And people think I post rude comments....

That's why I included the qualifier

Maybe you do. I, on the other hand, didn't intend for mine to be rude, and don't see it as such. I simply responded that I didn't see the need. I have 3 full servers of characters (nowhere as many as Memphis, obviously), but I know all of their powersets by heart.

Well, no, I take it back. I suppose the last line was a bit rude. My apologies.

I didn't take what you said as rude, but I did think you hadn't considered how many players are not only altoholics on multiple servers but have multiple accounts as well. Tho I am down to two accounts I used to have 4 accounts active at one time.

Generally there is one basic reason why i want this. I suffer from a sub condition of CRS know as CRSAF = Cant Remember **** After Work. Beyond this i usually don't name my characters according to there powers for the fact that it give it more realism. That being said i do remember some of them but usually its only 4-7 of the 36 and of them i only remember because there either an epic or a main one. Another would be that since i can only play one character at a time i usually haven't played some for along periods of time. Its not unusual for some of them to have a last played number over 100 days. some even are higher then 500 and one is saying 806. I know it should be higher because once i forgot what sort of brutes i have and just logged into them all to see.

I have toons I haven't played in years and yet I still didn't forget their primary/secondary, even ones that didn't go beyond level 10. If you have a character and you can't even remember its primary/secondary, it's probably not worth keeping.

Do you have any clue as to how condescending that sounds?

Some people don't remember details. Some do.

This is a very valid, probably low cost, QoL feature to be requested.

Yet, the OP is basically told (by some) that since others have such sterling memory abilities such a thing is not needed, to the point of calling the OP characters worthless.

Man, I just love gamers.

It's not about memory, it's about caring for your characters. Primary/Secondary isn't a small detail. Powersets are among the first choices you make when you create your character, and are used throughout your character's career. They define your character.

And my memory isn't that good.

I like all my characters. That being said I've chosen so many power sets over the years I've been playing that they all sort of mesh together in my mind. Especially when i get home from a hard night at work.

On a side note. I would like to ask the next person who is opposed this one question. How many characters do you have and do you remember every one of there power sets?

I've got to agree with MajorPrankster here.

I'm not a serious altaholic, so I can keep track of my assorted toons pretty easily. But my wife has a rather poor memory and a little icon or short blurb on the select screen would make it far easier for her to remember things like this. Besides, do we really need an icon that tells us what our characters' origins are? I understand that back in the day origin was planned to really mean something, but the way the game has progressed, origin means slightly more than what kind of shoes they're wearing.

I'd go with another set of icons with mouse over tool tip, similar to how AT and Origin already are:

I thought of this once but came up with 2 problems with it. A. if they did this they would have to re design the lay out so the i-cons don't overlap into the next column and B. they would have to think up and make new icons for each power set since they currently don't have one.

Any change is going to require a redesign of the layout on some level, and making icons isn't necessarily hard, they can do like mids did and re-use one of the more recognizable power icons.
