I got Solborne my SS/WP Brute to '51' on her very first STF run yesterday. It was an interesting group with 4 Scrappers and 2 Brutes, but it went pretty swimmingly. The rough one was the LRSF (again, her first) that I ran afterwards. The only heals we had were a /Traps MM, we were melee heavy again, and only one of us had even done their Patron Arc (I leveled Solborne in Paragon).
But in the end, level '51', a +20% ToHit tacked onto my Rech/Heal, and quite a lot of badges. Good times all in all.

If Anyone is coounting and doing stats [yeah SURE you are LOL] that makes 7 Statesman TFs in two day. Five were successful ( 71.4%) and Two were complete failures (28.6%). the biggest reason for failure;
1. Tank can not stay alive and hold aggro long enough for team to take down pylons.. PLYON (S ?????) in both case we never managed even 1 let alone all 4.
2. Team leader was clueless and made no effort to recruit a heal/buffer to help the tank. Its amazing after all the negative stuff I have seen on line and here on the forums about Empathy recently just how many teams there are in IP this week begging for an EMP. LOL
The really sad part was in both of these cases the team had gotten to the point where they were just one step away from finished. Both had managed to defeat Black Scorpion, Mako, Ghost Widow and Scirroco and take down the Arachnos Flyer but they just didn't have that one final piece of the puzzel to finish. After multiple failures players started to quit and then the TF just dissolved. Is an EMP the only answer.. No not at all. I did one with an Ill/? Controller that had his Phantom Army enhanced to PERMA and he used them to keep LR busy. In case you don't know PA can't be defeated on even injured so the AV can pound on them for hours and they are still alive. Did another where the Fire/Kin somehow managed to work with the Tank and keep LR occupied until we had the towers down.
Fortunately the ITF has been annoinced as the WTF for next week and these days it seems like everyone knows how to win on that one. Of all the ones I have done since 1-19 ly failures were a result of team mates dcing or quiting and leaving the team short firepower/buff/debuff when with faces Romi and the Nictus. Every other one has been a success.

Mmm, would also be noteworthy that you don't even need a tank to do it. Do not underestimate the power of buffs and debuffs

You should have seen the last one I did last night with my Blaster. We were doing fine until we got to taking out the towers. The tank just couldn't take the damage LR was throwing at him and we were constantly getting sent to the hospital. We finally had a Fire/Kin keep Recluse busy with her Imps (don't ask me how but she managed it) and we got the towers down and took revenge on Recluse for all that debt. At one point I realized the reason my debt wasn't getting any higher was I had reached the debt cap! Amazingly we defeated Lord Recluse and got the end bonus and after being more than 400,000 in debt I was debt free. Hey She's 50 level debt is just another badge! I lost track on how long that all took but it was 3AM and I logged off and went to BED. |
Honestly, I felt very good when we finished and without too terribly much trouble. It was a very Incarnate earning feeling, if that makes sense. I main tanked the STF for the first time to get my rare! That's appropriate I think!
One thing about that team, we didn't have hardly any healing. I think just Transfusion, and that couldn't have been very slotted. At least it wasn't healing me for much. There were times I was begging my Hoarfrost to recharge! I think Tessa's DEF boost really helped me out too.
I guess I better get my rares built as well...
Just got the note on the third of my active 50s, just gotta try and get on a mothership raid tomorrow for the g'rai matter he needs. It's been a good week for STFing, 3 in a row with the SG and all went swimmingly.
Ummm taking this thread off on a small side trip. Okay you have a 50 (+1) now. Have you played them since? I did an ITF and now all the 50 level minons con blue to me. 50 level Elite Bosses a yellow. Romi was still Purple but even he didn't seem as big a threat as usual. Eventually we will have to start upping the difficulty on most missions just to get a challenge out of them.
I now want to try another Apex and Tin Mage to see how big a difference fighting at basically level 51 is on those.

Yeah, I tanked another STF last night with my level shifted tanker. It was pretty fun, but more in a "Wow, my build isn't really optimal and I'm still kicking butt" way than anything else. I really need to actually do the respec I've been meaning to do and get him in top dog shape.
Got my Dominator at 50+1, yay. I'd kind of like to get a hero there, too, but I can't decide on one that'd really get a lot out of the alpha that I like to play enough to stick with them that long. Preferably, a character I'm also going to be willing to heavily IO and will get a lot out of that, too. Current forerunner is my Rad/Rad Defender, because I don't forsee Rad/ going out of style any time soon with all the AVs running around.
Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
Lead an ITF and got just enough shards to finish off my first Rare. My Scrapper has joined the ranks of 50 (+1)'s. =P
...Okay, I didn't so much 'lead' is as 'get everyone on the team and then let the Tanker tell everyone what to do, 'cause he was obviously more experienced.' But still. =|
My Archery/TA Corrupter, Bloodbow, got level shifted Saturday. I guess he's my "main" on Virtue. Can't wait to get a (+2) on that guy.

I was careless at first, then for some reason, i got an urge do run LRSF for 6 toons, last night. So i did.
Six LRSF back to back, from 7pm EST to midnight.
That leave me with 4 brutes, 4 corrs, and 3 doms, with Notice of the well, or a Tier 3 incarnate slotted.

The damage meter now goes to 11... (+1).

We got awfully lucky with LR. Hover taunted the whole time and he didn't get off one shot until all 4 towers were down.
Fun times for sure.

I got my Archery/Kinetics Corrupter to 50(+1) last night. I started the day with a freshly unlocked Alpha slot, and a single shard. I ran the STF, the LRSF (Vigilante), LGTF, and then the STF again, twice. Five runs was wearying for me to say the least, but I had the new shiny and a few leftover shards.
I have a few other 50's who need to do this, but I'm not in so much a hurry now. A Claws/SR Scrapper, a Fortunata, a Mind/Empathy Controller, and a Inv/SS Tanker. I probably won't take them each all the way so quickly -- I'm tired!
