  1. I got Solborne my SS/WP Brute to '51' on her very first STF run yesterday. It was an interesting group with 4 Scrappers and 2 Brutes, but it went pretty swimmingly. The rough one was the LRSF (again, her first) that I ran afterwards. The only heals we had were a /Traps MM, we were melee heavy again, and only one of us had even done their Patron Arc (I leveled Solborne in Paragon).

But in the end, level '51', a +20% ToHit tacked onto my Rech/Heal, and quite a lot of badges. Good times all in all.
  2. Strengths: I'll chime in and say I think my concepts, backgrounds, and personalities are pretty solid (at least on paper). Furthermore I don't need to be the star of the show and have quite a bit of fun playing support. I also type quickly which leads to quicker posts than most I've dealt with (not that slower posting is bad, I just challenge myself to not make those I RP with wait very long).

Weaknesses: I usually have a great handle on my character's personality and concept as I take them into RP. However the moment I start RPing it takes a mind of its own and there've been lots of times where the personality and concept didn't match beyond the second or third post.

Beyond that I have an easy time writing short/long stories but the moment I get into RP my descriptive tendencies have a habit of falling to the wayside and I end up typing /e smirks, /e chuckles, et cetera. I catch myself doing it and hate it, but I just occasionally have such a hard time of following RP and thinking about what my character would/will say/do at the same time. When it then comes to my turn to post I feel rushed, and thus don't take the time to think it out.
  3. Least Favorite AT? That's a toughie. I'd have to say I'm torn between Khelds (Yep, hoppin' on that bandwagon), Blasters, Corruptors, and MMs. I'll hit each one with a reason.

Khelds: I've gotten a Warshade into the mid-20s and a Peacebringer to the late 30s. I just got bored. I absolutely loved my Human Form PB (the special effects were sooo shiny, I'd actually get dazed by them and stop paying attention to the game itself), but I never RP'd her. Thus, she got deleted.

Blasters: I have a level 38 Ice/Ice Blaster who was a blast to play once upon a time. I built her like a Controller with Blaster attacks. 3 Holds, an Immobilize, Ice Patch, et cetera. Oh, she was fun. Then I came back from my break and realized the one thing I can't stand about Blasters. They're squishy and they have no mez protection. There's nothing worse, for me, than being locked out of the fight with nothing to do.

Corruptors: I have a Corruptor at 38 as well, Sonic/Traps. Quite fun and very powerful when I know what I'm doing. But same problems as Blasters. Squishy and no mez protection. I live off the latter. Except, strangely, as Controller types (Controller, Dominator). But that's because nothing I fight can attack me 'cause it's held or Confused.

Masterminds: I leveled one of these to the late 30s before I trashed her. Couldn't get into the character RPly, but more than that the playstyle was just boring. Bots/Poison. I could solo any EB I came up against while practically AFK, but that's why it was boring. It required no thought and what was the point of Micromanaging the Bots? They took care of themselves.

These days I find I have two favorite ATs. Brutes and Arachnos Widows (Fortunata). Brutes are just crazy fun, which confuses me. In most games I can't stand melee fighters and prefer to play support types. But in CoX? I loves me some Brute. And the Fortunata are basically Mind Doms with Psy Blast and a Status Shield. I can Hold/Confuse you, but you can't Hold/Confuse me! Mwaha! Oh, and the Stealth is nice too.

All in all, there's a few things I look for in an AT. Immunity to Status Effects (or ways to neutralize them without Insps), Fluidity/Synergy in powers, and Stealth (but that's stupid easy to get on any character now).

Know what I find funny though? Two of my favorite characters are from two of my least favorite ATs. My other two favorites are from my favorite ATs, making it a dead split.
  4. I didn't know him personally, but I saw him around now and again and as others have said he seemed a very decent man. Rest in peace, man, and condolences to the family and friends.
  5. I'd be down for this as well. I have two characters I can offer up for it (Only two, you ask? Yeah, yeah.)

Blue: Girl Eternity (Dark Melee/Regeneration Scrapper - Not PvP) DPS
Red: Dana Frost (Energy Melee/Energy Aura Brute) DPS or Tank - Haven't done latter since i10

Small disclaimer: I'm going to be leaving on a trip on Thursday, but I may have access to the game once I arrive. Otherwise I'll be gone for 2-3 weeks.

    New to Virtue

Welcome to Virtue. I think you'll like it here, there's lots of cool people and what not.
  7. Oh, by the way Stryph. Hi! It's Codie.
  8. Well, I guess I should officially say hi in this thread even though I've been pestering you in game the last couple days. So.. *clears throat*

    Haaaaaaaaai~ I'm back toooo!
  9. The first thing I have to mention is something I discovered last night. Why is /e sitchair now /e sitstool? That just seems silly. Perhaps more accurate since even with the sitchair emote you couldn't sit in most chairs, but still!

But to be on topic, what did I squee about CoX having that they didn't when I left? Uhm. I'm not sure. Quite a lot of stuff, really. I quit back in i11/i12. Whichever one Dual Blades came out in. I'm not sure which one because I barely played then. The RP community, in my eyes, had degenerated into insular cliques and rampant packs of ERPers. That and a drama with some friends, others leaving, et cetera. Anyway, on topic. I left around i11 or i12. It's now i18. I'm still trying to figure out what all the new stuff is. Yesterday I heard about some lounge for Heroes or Villains that's their reward for staying loyal. Sure, it's new with i18 but I hadn't heard of it before! I still need to go find it.

    TL: DR
Community = Yay (Although I still need to find non-Pocket D RP)
i12-i18 = Lots of new stuff for me, yay!
  10. Here's one I didn't see when I looked through it:

Static - The Praetorian Radio Network, might be just the Resistance's.

Also, thanks for this. I've been putting off RPing my Resistance character because I didn't have a full grasp on the lingo yet. I'm still trying to find a way to get back to Praetoria from Primal Earth (I heard there was one!) but I just can't figure it out yet.
