I would also like to announce that the March contest will be themed. You can choose from one of two themes to submit arcs. Irish themed for St. Patrick's Day (March 17) or Roman themed for the Ides (March 15). Feel free to start working on ideas for this now...please wait until March 1 to submit any entries!

We have a winner in the February AE contest!

Congratulations to @Gypsy Rose for winning with Arc ID: 374481. An Homage to the Wizard of OZ CoH style. Nicely done!

There were several good arcs...the margin of victory was a single vote. Competition is good!

Our next contest begins March 1. Beginning on March 1 you may submit Arcs which match one of the two themes selected for March; either a Roman themed arc for the Ides of March or an Irish themed arc for St. Patrick's Day!

No Roman or Irish themed arcs out there? Julius O'Malley would be spinning in his grave...if there were an Irish Roman named Julius O'Malley.

This is kind of why I thought you might have a hard time with themed contests. Especially something offbeat.

There's probably some out there, but the author community that actually participate in the forums is very small. You could get an accurate headcount from past contests I'm sure. Maybe like 20 of us? And I haven't even been playing in months due to health issues. Just pop by the forums every so often.

I'm willing to sacrifice quantity for quality. Its all trial and error with these contests anyway; sometimes things work; sometimes they do not.

Just found this thread, and would love to participate... Sadly:

1. As an EU player it would be impossible to claim any Inf if I (/an EU Player) won with my (/their) arc.
(No NA <-> EU Inf transfer system exists.)

2. If I was allowed to enter and were my arc to win, would I be allowed to donate the prize via yourselves to PERC for a mention of both yourselves, myself and my winning AE arc?

3. I could write a themed arc, but it would require confirmation of point #2, before I bother...

4. I only have one AE arc up atm, which sadly doesn't match the theme, will probably wait until the next NON themed one, if allowed.

Nuff Said...
Coolio Wolfus leader of Coolios Crusaders on Union.
Tekna Logik leader of Teknas Tormentors on Defiant.
AE arc 402506, 'The Rise and Demise or Otherwise of Tekna Logik...'.

Technically there is one way to transfer NA <-> EU but it involves the market and a little bit of risk.

What you do with your prize money would be your decision...I could send it to whomever you designate if that is what you would like to do.

Thanks Trekkin,
I probably wouldn't make the deadline on this one anyway, but nice to know I and the EU players in general can enter too.

One last query...
My current AE arc scales so a low level (~10) should be able to solo it (With the mission ally), but at level 50(+1) +4x8 it starts approaching Lambda/BAF difficulty.
How would you and the SG test this?

Hello!

# 292389: From Tartarus with love..., is my second arc about Cimerora. Would that work for Roman?

If so, then I'm game!

Generally the arcs are run both solo and as teams at various levels...its really up to the individual in the group how they judge an arc but mission difficulty is not really a consequence of the judging. If its difficult; we make sure we bring the right amount of guns to get the job done. We are more interested in story, custom creations, map selection, etc.

Thinking about it, I recalled that Hereclea had a single mission arc that was written all in Latin* with satyrs and such, that should qualify, right? I can't recall the title's proper spelling off the top of my non-Latin head though.

You might want to shoot her a PM and see if the arc is still up and if she'd like to enter it.

*Her Latin skills are great, she was happy to do some Engish-to-Latin for one of my own arcs; I'd enter it but the 'Roman theme' is only one mish out of five...

I have a couple Roman themed arcs, including the single mission "Ecloga Prima".

But the one I would submit is "Spread My Legions", 397398. This is a villainous arc in which you must assist Romulus Augustus in his plan to conquer the Past, Present, and Future.

It plays best with a team, and you will face several elite bosses or AVs.

Hello, here is my contribution to the Roman-themed contest:

Journey to a parallel timeline, where a modern Roman Empire rules the world -- and heroes are slaves! "NOVA ROMA: American Empire", AE arc 347594.

Thank you for your consideration.
