"No response from this server."

I am trying to log into Justice and I keep getting:

"No response from this server. Please try a different server or try this server again later."

I've tried every server, exiting the game and coming back, verifying all of my files, rebooting my machine and sacrificing egg nog to Castle (which had rum. It's been a long day.). Any thoughts, folks?

Getting the same response on all servers.
There is a suggested fix - I'm trying it now

How to fix the 'No response from server' problem:
Exit COX
Using Windows Explorer or hard disk browse, go to where your COX program is installed (like C:\program files\City of Heroes
In the City of Heroes folder, find two files: one ends in PRN and one ends in CHECKSUM
Delete them
At Start, click Run. IN the box, type CMD
The Command Prompt black screen appears. In the command window, type :
IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS <--- notice the space before /

After it runs, type EXIT in the command window and the black screen goes away.
Restart COX
It will checksum and then fix the broken files
It will verify
And then you can log in

The cause for this seems to be that the client doesn't realize that there's a patch that it needs to download. And weirdly enough, instead of giving the "client version doesn't match server version, download the latest patch and try again" or whatever the original error should be, it's actually letting people reach the server selection screen then booting them out.
For the most part restarting your client and/or your computer over and over till the client decides to download the latest patch seems to be the solution for those who ran into this problem. And yes, some had to reboot their machine multiple times to get it to work.

It worked! (though that file ended in .PRV )

Thanks CP.

How to fix the 'No response from server' problem:
(This is for XP, Vista and 7 are similar, but call the CMD box something else)

Others have had some success reverifying files or restarting their computers. Hopefully they'll get this settled so user's don't have to fix it themselves.

When was the last time you played before this patch? Because there was a patch on Thursday(16th) and another on Saturday(18th).

I noticed my updater patching but I thought it was just because I added the -renderthread 1 to see if it would help with my other problem which I'll prolly have to make another thread for. Anway, I played through all of saturday no problem, but now at 4:30 in the morning I'm having to sit here and wait for this problem to get fixed. So something else happened and I'm guessing it's on the Dev's end being that people had to come up with a solution on their own for no apparent reason.

Disclaimer: If this post came off as harsh, degrading, or in anyway unreadable please be aware that I was typing this at 4:30 in the morning after being woken up by roommates yelling at each other and unable to go back to sleep.

I managed to get in once... then nothing again now.

What puzzles me is that it downloaded and applied a patch for the fourth time today.

This worked for me! Delete the checksum, flush the DNS, and reverse the polarity of the taychon flow, and it's fixed.

It was working just fine, then my game screwed up and I exited. Then it downloaded another patch (what?) and I couldn't get in. That was just moments ago. Trying the suggested solution now...

No good.

I found - I always go for the easiest option - that doing a hard reboot worked for me just fine, only had to turn of the computer the once.

Fixed it last night and that infamous message is back. We pay a monthly fee to play this game and one of there services is to keep the game going. Yet they can not seem to perform this task.

It's a mistake that happened in a file somewhere......on a weekend when no one is in the office to fix it. I'm quite confident it will be fixed by around 8 AM Pacific time Monday morning. Something like this is going to be priority #1 when everyone shows up for work Monday.

There was another guy posting a thread threatening to ragequit because a file got screwed up. Seriously, it was just a file that got borked......it does happen occasionally with computers. If it persists after the weekend maybe then you can start getting bent out of shape, until then, be patient and see if they fix it.

Again, it is a mistake that happened on a weekend when none of the programmers are around to fix it. If none of the staff tried to log in on their personal account over the weekend they may not even KNOW about the problem yet.
