How is THIS for ridiculously good luck?
the most shards i ever got off of a tf was 14 shards in an ITF
overall i have 3 toons with uncommon boosts and 3 other toons with common boosts
some of those toons have a ton of extra shards too
That, or it's just a neat little quirk that's unique to the incarnate shards.

Influence Sink: IO Level Mod/Recrafting
Random Merit Rolls: Scale cost by Toon Level
Could be that you have a (making up numbers here) 3% chance to have a shard drop when an enemy is defeated.
Then if successful, you have another 1% chance for another drop.

My top tier characters, who are the only ones that are Incarnates at this point, all run at x8. It's possible that it's related (with the multi-shard issue being an unintended side-effect of allowing all members of a team a chance at a shard equally).

My plant/storm/stone controller is sitting on 28 spare shards, I think im just going to save them to see what comes out next patch. It already has the Uncommon slotted.
I find ITF's give better shard drops than the other Task Forces i've done.
However, I ran an ITF on my Ma/Sr scrapper, I only needed 4 shards to craft his uncommon, i got 2 the entire clear all TF. I was kinda bummed, I didn't even need the incarnate salvage you are offered. Perhaps 'touching' more mobs is beneficial(IE, something like blazing aura getting a damage tick on everything, works wonders on a ship raid )? Though I believe it is purely random for the entire team
I have hit 2 shards on the one enemy before, though I always forget to take screen shots WITH UI. I've had 10-12 drop on one taskforce before and as I said, i've had just 2.

@OP: I don't know much about Incarnate Shards, except that they are important. My eyes are too busy looking at the 10k - 30k that you recieved from defeating one enemy. That's a lot of money in the eyes of my low level character. 0_0
19 solo Missions and counting and have yet to get a single shard to drop, haven't given up hope yet though.

Heh, I'd wondered if that was the case for some of these, actually. Were you x2 or more? Maybe there's no distinction here between virtual team size and actual team size.

I might not remember it exactly accurately, but you definitely get the most shards on big teams.
Issue 16 made me feel like this.
Warning: This poster likes to play Devil's Advocate.
I've had 2 drop from a mob several times now across my 7 incarnate characters I've been playing.
It's kind of neat, I've heard of 3 happening but haven't had it happen to me yet.
If I had to guess I'd say you' never get more than 8 from a mob. I have a hunch it's something to do with the way it does the math for the drops. My hunch is, it decides how many to drop for the team, with no more than the team size. IE a mob goes down, it says 4 people on the team, we can do up to 4 drops. Then after it decides how many, it assigns them, but not always to different people.
So it'd never do more than 8 per mob. But that's rampant speculation based on little hard information.
