Mixed feelings about I-19

Just a little woolgathering here...I really really want to enjoy I-19, but it seems that it sorta put an end to a chapter of CoH for me. See, I remember when (yes and I chase kids out of my yard too) ..<insert random rant about how hard the old dayswere>.. I sorta took pride in making builds and play styles that could run stamina free. So I look at all characters I have that need to be respec and this is stupid I feel sad, because they are cleverly crafted "who cares" like beautiful old steam fire pumps. In away I-19 is going to spawn alot more 50s for me who will use the Alpha slots and inherent fitness....but most my 50s are going to sit because it is going to hurt to tear each one apart to make the newest and the bestest on the block....
I love I-19 but in away it is a curtain call final issue for alot of beloved level 50 characters....

The king is dead LONG LIVE THE KING!

When life gives you mixed feelings, you make a fruit cake. Hmm that analogy doesn't work out as well as I thought it would.

If you have a character whose build worked great without Stamina, why respec them? Just drop a few generic IOs in the inherent Fitness you get and treat it as a small buff. I have a previously Fitnessless Mastermind and a previously Fitnessless Stalker (both 50) that I'm not respeccing because I can't be bothered and their builds worked fine before, so now they'll work even better.

(Okay, my previously Fitnessless Defender got a respec, because I had too many slots anyway so I could spare to more a few into Fitness.)

...Except, unless I missed something, you don't need to respec.
If they never took Stamina in the first place, they have no need to respec. It was only builds with Legacy Fitness that had to repsec.
So, in essence, you can keep the beautiful old fire pump, and have another shiny at the same time, right?

As someone who ran all of his characters without Stamina on principle alone, I couldn't disagree more. Like me, you chose to build in an inefficient way, and while it's commendable that you were able to pull it off, it's really not something that holds water when all that sort of building ever was was bridging the gap of poor design.

The game's design has been fixed now, and all of the old workarounds are relegated to history, to be viewed as quaint but obsolete. As it should be. No longer will we NEED to pull off miracles to attain just basic performance without stooping to the one-stop-shop solution. Now we all have that one solution so we should start taking pride in how well we use it.

To put it simply: I enjoyed being able to play without Stamina, but I will not miss it in the slightest.

If he never took any of the Fitness powers, then his characters would be granted Inherant Fitness when he logs in with them.

On another note, this finally opens up the field for the perennial "What's the best power in the game?" threads. With Stamina no longer being a power pick per se, maybe such discussions won't boil down into everybody nodding at each other about Stamina.

I think the issue here is the OP still doesn't want to have Stamina. Unless you already had the fitness pool in your build, you get inherent fitness automatically, whether you respec or not. The only way for a Stamina-less character to still be without Stamina is if the player had picked up Swift, Hurdle, or Health for some reason but not Stamina.

Why do people complain about buffs? I'd understand it if the buffs instantly made all content trivial, but inherent Fitness even at its best doesn't do this.

I cleverly made 2 of my main alts staminaless through expensive HOs or powersets that could gain endurance themselves.

That just made the free stamina even more useful to them.

My mixed feelings about I19 were confused with other feelings, like "sugar", or "drunk".
