How. Seriously, how? Someone help me. I have tried everything, and i can't seem to find a way to not get hit by the mines. Director 11 runs so much that it's impossible to hold him down, and the mines go off at a ridiculous range.

Does ANYONE have any insight?

Well, i joined a team running it earlier, and the method used was fairly straightforward, if a bit reliant on certain powers.
Try to make the team has several pets, immobilize powers (AoE immobilizes especially good), and some dropped/PBAoE repel type powers like Bonfire, Hurricane, Force Bubble, etc.
1) Defeat the War Walkers and gather at the warehouse door.
2) One player with Assemble the Team waits outside the door while the others run in and click the devices. When all devices are clicked the team is teleported back outside the warehouse.
3) Summon all available pets and enter warehouse. The team should stay right by the entrance and use repel/KB powers under foot. When Director 11 comes hit him with immobilize powers and AoE/dropped debuff/damage powers.
4)Profit!

Director 11 spawns invisible, untargetable pets that run around the map laying mines. The mine layers can be destroyed by player pets and AoE splash damage and kept away from the team with repel/KB effects. As with most AVs single target immobilizes help keep Director 11 in one place. AoE immobs lock Director 11 in place and do the same to his pets.

This isn't a guaranteed method, but it can work.

He does or did (in beta) have a power that gave him, per my Power Analyzer III, mag 30 immobilize protection. Apparently it isn't always "toggled" on and a bunch of folks spamming various immobilizes should potentially overcome it as well. I have not monitored or attempted to since i19 went live.

The mines also have better than +12 knockback on them ... which often sent my squishies sailing into other mined areas.

i think the team i did it with last night just stacked up an obscene amount of immobilization to lock him in place. The invisible mine layers can be repelled or destroyed by pets and non-targeted AoE effects. Having +res and healing is good too, since Director 11 hits hard even if his mines don't get to you.

Ran it the other day. We had several tanks and we literally lined up side by side and blocked him from getting out of a corner.

As for the mines...if your a squishie...fly

Kudos! i can't really take credit for creating the strategy, only for passing it along. All i ask in return is that you do the same.

So, since the patch adjusting the targeting of the minelayers, how much of this strategy still works? Or has anyone come up with a good alternate strategy?

A strategy I was involved with was to go into the warehouse and ignore the glowies and defeating all the ambushes. Then everyone group up near the AV spawn point drop their pets, nukes and the leader when around clicked all the glowies. The AV spawned after all the glowies were clicked right among all the buffed pets. He barely got his speech out before he was down.

So our answer to the minelayers was overwhelming firepower right from the start.

Where is the AV spawn point?

Also, I've heard/read that there's a 30-second delay between the time D11 spawns, and when the mine-layers show up. Can anybody confirm or debunk this rumour?

As you enter the warehouse there is an open area to the left and that is where he appeared with some of his posse in the aisles between storage racks.

If you have fly and happened to be a ranged fighter, you can always just stay off the ground. I did this and managed to get the badge. I also hid in the rafters if I was worried about getting attention from Clockwork.

Midnight Dodger requires that all teammates dodge the mines.

This works.

The AV spawn point is at the last glowing object clicked. As far as the 30 second window, that seems to be fairly accurate.

So it appears the most effective current strategy is to run the timer out, wipe out all the ambushes, click all the glowies but one, surround the last glowy with as many pets and damage/res debuff patches as possible, then then click on the last glowy and try to take out Director 11 in less than 30 seconds.

Seems straightforward enough if perhaps a bit tricky to pull off.

It isn't tricky at all. It is a bit time consuming to get the nukes, but it simply bypasses the mine layers completely through an overwhelming blitzkrieg of damage. Nothing in the game can survive this.

All this leads me to believe that nukes will be likely be banned by the developers in yet another "hissy fit" patch (a patch that changes the rules so that the developer's "ideals" are upheld despite player tactics). The problem with those types of patches is that players do one of two things: find another way to overwhelm & ignore the developer rules OR simply ignore the badge because it is too difficult to achieve using "sanctioned" methods.

What that will do is pretty much prevent most players from getting the Master of Tin Mage from that point on.

.
When do we get the hissy fit player nerf?

I fear you might be right, especially after we saw the stealth hotfix applied to the badge a couple weeks ago (making the mine layers immune to AoE). I'm going to have to make a concerted effort to get this badge in the coming days.

One wonders what they really have in mind. Do they really think eight players frantically running/flying/jumping around to avoid the mines makes for an interesting encounter? Especially when the mines are so ridiculously numerous, and have an extremely liberal trigger and blast radius?

30 mag immob protection? Assuming 4 base, that's only 4 Domination-fuelled single-target-immobilizes, and those things recharge FAST.

Um, it was announced in the patch notes - that's hardly a stealth patch.

<sigh>

Um, yes, I know it was announced in the patch notes, once it was pushed live. Was it published in the test patch notes (was it even on test?)? To my knowledge, it was not, and a cursory search of the test forums buttresses my recollection. However, I'm more than willing to be proven wrong on the matter.

So, perhaps I've misused the official Interwebz version of the term "stealth." But in my view, pushing an unadvertised game mechanic change live is, ya know, kinda stealthy.

Here's the catch - if it was viewed as an exploit (and I can see how it was, otherwise they would not of been untargetable to begin with) - it would not be on the test notes.

Stealth patch refers to no test OR live notes.
