Fox doing 3 Stooges movie
Are they still talking about Sean Penn to play Larry?

I really wish this project had stayed dead.
Arc# 92382 -- "The S.P.I.D.E.R. and the Tyrant" -- Ninjas! Robots! Praetorians! It's totally epic! Play it now!
Arc # 316340 -- "Husk" -- Azuria loses something, a young woman harbors a dark secret, and the fate of the world is in your hands.
So many actors have come and gone for this movie: Sean Penn, Jim Carrey...

Fox: Throwing Poop at you since 1975!
I personally would rather see a bio-pic of their early years. Maybe what got them started in Showbiz. I will give this a chance since I'm a big fan of "Dr. Howard, Dr. Fine, and Dr. Howard."

The only negative is it's too short. Their careers were so long and varied that 2 hours (with commercials) really can't cover everything.

Oh Myskatz knows of the biopic, Def. It's a film we both have enjoyed.
It was her wanting to see this attempt at a film more in the spirit of that film than trying to bring the Stooge concept forward like this film intends to be.
Thank you for the time...
Yeah I might be interested in a film about the Threes Stooges if it was done like a "behind the scenes" drama about their real lives while they were making their movies. But if they seriously just try to "reboot" the characters and effectively remake a modern-day version of a Three Stooges movie then I think that would be pretty sad. It's not that I didn't like their humor (in small doses) but I just don't think it's going to translate well to modern audiences unless they morph it into some variation of the Jackass movies.

It would make no more sense to create a new Three Stooges than a new Little Rascals or a new Shirley Temple or a new Abbot and Costello, etc.
I would definitely love to see a move about them with current actors but I would never see a new Three Stooges.
total kick to the gut
This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.
If anyone really needs a Stooges fix, Sony Pictures has (finally) done them justice on DVD. They've spent the last few years restoring the shorts as best as they could and releasing everything in chronological order. Well worth the money if you're a fan.
Vol. 1 contains the first 3 years of their work.

I agree. There are some things that are the people who do them/did them. They weren't exactly characters in the sense of say Superman or James Bond or the Lone Ranger.

Well, that, and you know the Farrelly's are going to load it with potty humor.

This is precisely the problem I have with this movie.

I consider the Stooges to be comedy jugglers/acrobats. They are a circus of humor going on in many places at the same time but too many people just see the commotion and not the connections.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
A bio-pic has already been done, and if you can find it, it's actually really good. Mel Gibson produced it.

Having seen some of their early works with Healy, I can that yes they were funny, but the Stooges were wise to leave him. In all the skits with Healy, he always felt to me like a boat anchor dragging the Stooges down.
As to this new Stooge movie, it's been "in the works" for years, and as a Stooge fan I would prefer to stay buried. I always laugh at the Stooge shorts, and I love the ones where they lampoon the Nazi's or are beating up on the Nazi's, but would a movie where they may encounter modern day terrorists and deal with said terrorists as only the Stooges can be accepted?
Also, finding someone that can impersonate one Stooge isn't too hard. It's getting three that can work well together and sync up the way the originals did that is the hard part.
No, the Stooge movie should not happen.

What would be great is if they can dig through the film vaults and locate and restore any and all footage they find of the Stooge's bloopers. Think of it! How funny would be to watch them try to perform a skit and make a slip up of some and kind and every one starts laughing on the set?
One legend is that skit with Curly and the clam chowder and every time he drank from that bottle he and his stool would spin in a circle. Supposedly they had to do dozens of retakes because everyone on the set was cracking up with laughter at the hilarity of the skit and Curly couldn't keep a straight face and was busting a gut laughing.
How about the skit when Moe had those electric shock pads tossed into the back of his pants by Curly and then Curly in advertently turns on the power? Moe starts dancing around and was looking like the Russian dance and Curly starts clapping his hands and dancing along with Moe. (Episode was Gem of a Jam). Imagine the retakes that one had because I know if I was on the set I'd be busting a gut laughing so hard.
Any Stooge blooper footage they can recover should be awesome to see. Not counting on the set injuries of course as some of their stunts were reported to backfire. That western skit when they improvised that bazooka and all the black powder blew back into Moe's face, supposedly Moe had to be zipped to the hospital as he was choking rather badly. Then later in that skit when they try that weapon again, a spring pops out of the back and hits Moe instead of black powder again.
I've pretty much about had it with Hollywood. I don't remember the last movie I went to go see. There's just nothing good and original out anymore. I think I'll resort to writing nasty letters if they ever try an Abbot and Costello movie.
